Midterms
Hello out there to everyone. I just came across this site and I wish I would have came across it before entering law school. I just had midterms and I did not do as well as I hoped, they range from 10 percent to 20 percent. Is is still possible to do very well in the class if I were to work hard towards my final? Thank you to all in advanse for taking the time to review my post and possibly respond to it as well.

What does this mean, "10 percent to 20 percent"? Bottom, top, middle?
At the only schools I know of that give midterms, they're meant for practice and to show you what an exam is like, and don't have a huge impact on your final grade. The final is still what makes up the extreme bulk of your grade, so anything you can learn and improve on between the midterm and final will help significantly.

Oh, I understand better now.lawstudent8685 wrote:well they are worth 10 percent or 20 percent of my grade.
Well, if you do poorly on something that's 10 percent of your grade, but later do really well on something that's 90 percent of you grade, that 90 percent is obviously what will really matter. You can recover and still do well in the class by shining on the final. There's still hope.
I did one midterm which was a wakeup call for me; it showed me that I was learning the law but not writing solid exam answers at all. I buckled down, focused a lot more on how to write high-quality exam answers, and got a better overall grade in the class. The final is what matters.

I feel the same way... i understand the black letter law, i know how to apply it, but i just noticed little stupid things when taking these midterms. i really want to get an A or B+ and i know i am capable of it.

Re: Midterms
One of the top 10 students in my school got the worst midterm grade in the class on one of our midterms. Correlation between midterm performance and final performance is quite weak. Good luck.
