Civ Pro - Need to memorize FRCP numbers?

Just like in subject line. Do professors normally require memorizing the serial numbers of procedure statutes? Example is 422.10-Allowable Pleadings.

I got an A in Civ Pro and have no idea what you're talking about, so I imagine it depends on the school.

I also did very well in Civ Pro and I have no clue what 422.10 is... Civ pro can vary a lot based on if you have 1 semester verse 2, content also varies by profs as well.

That being said, Knowing FRCP rule numbers and what they are associated with will likely help a significant amount. Meaning, Rule 4, 12, 13, etc.

Def. try to memorize them. Most profs will let you bring in a copy of the FRCP which you can probably annotate to include any notes or cases. However, flipping through it on the final exam can be a HUGE time drain. Make sure you know what the rules are and when they apply and then look at the FRCP only if you need specific language. I made flashcards myself as the semester went along- not too detailed, just the rule on one side and two sentences about its application on the other. I think its better to make them yourself than buy commercial ones but that's just me.

If you are doing all the work for the class, you will start to remember them without trying. In my Civ Pro class, we were allowed to have a copy of the FRCP in the exam, and our book, and our outline. :)
