Thread Unworthy 1L fears, inquiries, and rants welcome here
I’m starting a thread for us c/o 2013 students to help each other, not to just get through law school, but to get through as high in the class as we can.
This thread is not for those of you who have already outlined 4 of your E&E’s, and want to break a record for in-class hypotheticals and handraise speed. This is a thread for those of us absolutely determined to finish as high in our class as we can, and want every resource available to aid us along the way, one important one being each other.
This thread can be a place where you ask questions about topics you don’t quite understand, or maybe take the time to answer it for someone else and in the process, learn it that much better yourself.
Most of us will be taking the same substantive classes this fall (torts, civ pro, contracts), so why not be a part of an online study group where attendance is at your leisure? I understand different professors emphasize and disagree on different points, but we can still talk over RAP whether we’re in Texas or Maine.
This isn’t a master thread where newcomers and regulars square off, pop in when you have a question or a comment, leave when you’re done if you want to. This is not a lounge thread though, so on topic comments would be appreciated.
The school year is just about starting, so I figured now would be a good time to start something to assuage or reinforce the fears of our fellow 1L’s.

Re: The Gunner Thread
I find it highly ironic that you title this the "gunner thread" but u specify in the OP that this is not for the people who have already outlined 4 E&Es and plan to raise their hand all the time. Unfortunately, that is the exact definition of a gunner.

Maybe the OP is using a different definition of a gunner.rbgrocio wrote:I find it highly ironic that you title this the "gunner thread" but u specify in the OP that this is not for the people who have already outlined 4 E&Es and plan to raise their hand all the time. At the moment, I'm half way through How to do your best....
I'll re-read Learning Legal Reasoning... soon.
They're both helpful.

Re: The Gunner Thread
I assume you did GTM and LEEWS already? The law exams one seems pretty decent.

I've read GTM, but will re-read it through the semester to gain a better understanding. I have LEEWS, but have not started it.Matteliszt wrote:I assume you did GTM and LEEWS already? The law exams one seems pretty decent.

I'd consider changing the title of the OP.

Also... Why are you all reading ALL these books. Enjoy the few weeks you have left because from now on you will eat, breath and live law. Really, just enjoy the time you have left.

Re: The Gunner Thread
This thread is ridiculous. Chill the fuck out, 0Ls.
I want to finish as high in the class as I can!!! Well no shit, do you really think anyone aims to suck? A "study group" thread is going to do less than nothing to help you excel. Just focus on going to class and doing your reading. Problem solved.
Goddamn I hate this forum most of the time.

Thanks for you input, but honestly, a lot of the time when i was a 1L I came to TLS for help on problems I didn't quite grasp or to refine my knowledge of a subject area and I think it was quite helpful.stonepeep wrote:This thread is ridiculous. Chill the fuck out, 0Ls.

Re: The Gunner Thread
The users have TLS have been incredibly helpful in every aspect of the admissions process, why would they be any less helpful during law school?mistergoft wrote:Thanks for you input, but honestly, a lot of the time when i was a 1L I came to TLS for help on problems I didn't quite grasp or to refine my knowledge of a subject area and I think it was quite helpful.stonepeep wrote:This thread is ridiculous. I thought we had already settled on the fact that the OP uses the WRONG definition of gunner!
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
