How much time do 1Ls spend on class-related work + classes?

Number of hours spent in class, reading, studying, outlining, taking practice exams, in study groups, commuting to school, etc. will vary so widely that it's hard to talk in averages.

On the other hand, "Number of hours spent worrying about 1L" will likely swell to all of the hours during which you are awake, and many that you are not. That's the real killer; no matter how much you do, it always feels like you could be doing more. And often see somebody who is doing more. It's very hard to get away from.

WTF do people do for more than 60 hours? Even at finals time the most I probably managed was 40.

I said 30... now that I think about weekends and stuff it's likely 30-40. It's probably 50-60 around exams.
