study abroad = job opp abroad?

Post by toppercentile » Fri Jul 30, 2010 11:47 pm

Has anybody who has done a study abroad gotten an offer to continue working abroad, as do summer interns domestically? Is this even likely, or is this not the nature of study abroad?

Some study abroad programs set you up with an internship. This is done after you finish your classes, so you get an additional 3-4 weeks to screw around in whatever country you're in. They may or may not have stringent language requirements for this, since you're doing, you know, actual work.

If you are actually interested in trying to get a job working overseas, you're better off either contacting a firm yourself, or doing an internship through your school.

Study abroad or interning for either an international firm or foreign firm in a foreign country ? Big difference.
