I hand-write notes because the process of transferring the notes into a Word document really helps me study. Some days I would fore-go the notebook for the computer when I was being lazy, and I could never remember that information as well. I just use one, three-subject notebook. I tried using three notebooks first semester and it was just a pain in the ass.

I liked using luminotes. Really though, any personal wiki will do. To outline with luminotes, I split each class up into anywhere from two to four parts, and then kept separate outlines for those parts. Prior to exams, I merged the parts into a word document.
