BarBri MPRE
I'm going to pick up the study guide. Does it matter which year the book is? 2008 v. 2009?

Re: BarBri MPRE
Only one thing I can think might be different -- they have recently added questions about judges. Not sure what year that happened in.
Are you signed up for either BarBri or Kaplan? I seriously wouldn't spend any time studying for the MPRE until the week before the exam, or whenever they do the video for it.

The MRPC were amended in 2003, 2007 (comment only), 2008, and 2009. http://www.americanbar.org/groups/profe ... nduct.htmlMiniver wrote:There have been no changes to the MRPC since 2002.
One of the 2009 amendments to Rule 1.10 is relatively significant as it allows firms to "screen" lawyers when there is a conflict.

I took Kaplan's free course. http://www.kaptest.com/Bar-Exam/Free-Pr ... ourse.html.Grad_Student wrote:I'm going to pick up the study guide. Does it matter which year the book is? 2008 v. 2009?
It was OK. Decent lecture and outline materials. Access to the q-bank was helpful. Kaplan handed out free hard copies of the books at my school. If you know a Kaplan/PMBR rep at your school, you might be able to get one free (it's probably the same thing as the free download course materials, though).
It's a relatively easy exam, anyway. I didn't study until the day before (but had taken professional responsibility).

Yeah I remember that. I took a ProRes class in which the exam was a bunch of MPRE questions and I got an A. So I think I only need a book full of questions. And no, I'm not signed up for BarBri yet lolggocat wrote:The MRPC were amended in 2003, 2007 (comment only), 2008, and 2009. http://www.americanbar.org/groups/profe ... nduct.htmlMiniver wrote:There have been no changes to the MRPC since 2002.

+1, and you can get access to Kaplan's q-bank online for free.Corsair wrote:There is no need to pay for any MPRE book. Many companies give them away for free, and you should be able to find a friend who already has one.

Re: BarBri MPRE
I've been going through some of the Barbri MPRE study questions and I'm getting almost half of them wrong. I just switched to the free practice questions offered by the official MPRE company (NCBE) on their website and I'm now getting all of the questions right. NCBE's questions seem a lot less technical and more common sense. Are the Barbri questions abnormally hard? Are they actually pulling the questions from real tests, or just making artificially tricky questions?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I found the NCBE questions harder during the exam but I passed with WAAAAY over the amount needed. Just keep working.adb989 wrote:I've been going through some of the Barbri MPRE study questions and I'm getting almost half of them wrong. I wish the bar exam were like this as well. Fuck do I hate barbri (and barprep generally) so much.G. T. L. Rev. wrote:The MPRE is so easy that you should never pay for anything. Study for part of the day before, pass, and move on with life.
