List is missing "the Aspie" and "the psychopath." Although I guess those can be sub-species of the above 10 types.

Thanks for the copy/paste! I love your username... but I feel compelled to say that it's "Wiggin," not "Wiggins." /dickishness :D One of my favorite books ever.

Also, I really liked the line, "a thousand Learned Hands clapping a joyous symphony of jurisprudence."
Yeah, well, someone else took that name but apparently never used it...the extra "s" is for "still love Ender's Game".

8. THE DIVERSITY STUDENT

When she’s not busy posing for pictures for the law school’s website and viewbook, she’s enjoying the sweet life of a tuition-free education. How do you spell the name of that Native-American tribe again? Oh yeah, “f-u-l-l r-i-d-e.”

She doesn’t worry so much about preparing for class, taking exams, or career outlooks—and why should she? When her former classmates are sacrificing movie nights just so they can pay back the interest on their student loans, she’ll be relaxing in the comfy leather chair of her 45th-story downtown office. After all, you can only be a diversity student for three years until you’re a diversity hire.

OMG! You looked at my profile, lol. The lust of my life is not gay, she's bisexual. The girls I managed to casually assess had her skin tone, so they are like Michelle Rodriguez in a way. So funny! Nothing wrong with a bisexual girlie!

The good news: He will realize this.

The bad news: At the point he does, he’ll owe $100 grand and will have lost most, if not all, of his hair.

Indeed. Don't be scared of the jock's innate broness. Just 'cause he shows up to class smelling like he just left the gym, because he just left the gym, doesn't mean he isn't any less serious about his law career. Girls? Psh. Girls are a distraction from one's bros.

Bros before hoes.

Scared to get iced in class? Get outta my section. Goodle chat? What the fuck is a google, a new Swedish bench variation? Whatever.

wheres the diaper dandy( the ass kisser). He/ she is the one who takes up all of the office hours trying to sweet talk to professor into giving her/ him an A.Not only do they have the middle seat inteh front row, they have the professors office hours memorized, their office number on speed dial, and can recite off the top of their head where the professor went to school, and what year theri diploma was printed. Instead of studying, their busy babysitting the professors kids, cleaning their office/ house, and doing allmost anything to get an A. Hated by most in her class, despised by all students in academia in general, you can easily spot them on campus either holding the professors books, or trying to hold their hand.

You must be a 0L. Kissing up to profs does you no good in LS b/c exams are graded blindly. Might help in LRW I suppose, but that's about it.

I don't think the author ever said everyone fits into one of these groups. He is just saying these stereotypes are common and you'll likely run into people like this.
I'm guessing sluguy was being sarcastic.

Trying to be number two? if so, good work.. that's funny.

if not, well, you found you on the list...or i did for you

The posters in this thread appear to assume that one cannot fit into two or more of these archetypes. There are silent killers who just happen to be ethnic minorities, altruists who are so altruistic that they become desparados (who, btw, will do the ripping of the pages for the person who asked earlier), and so on.

I met a black bourgeoisie (southern-male) whose lineage of attorneys stretched back to the early 1900's and throughout his family...far and wide. White people, wait until you meet a "Clifton Downey Johnson IV", whose family has money longer than train smoke, and he thinks he's better than every other MF on campus because of it. Oh, and he's black! They're rare, but they're out there! And we all know how animal rights activists can be, so its not a stretch that a do-gooder with a plan, who also struggles academically, might spend every waking hour in the library but also loan out bad outlines, rip pages out of books or otherwise try to derail classmates.

It's silly to assert that there are not attractive people of both sexes in law school. They're more common than 0Ls might think. (My friends have advised me that any involvement with law student boys = fail, but I am not into learning lessons, either the easy way or the hard way.)

Will once again sing the praises of #4 types. Everyone I have ever met who even partially matches this description is awesome.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
