We have varying time limits depending on the journal. The first isn't due until next Monday and, from what I've heard, it's about 3-4 days of solid 6-7 hours work per app. LR, the one that most matters, isn't due until June 1.

Emory Law. 10 days. ~170ish page packet. 12 page maximum for the paper. 12 page maximum for the citations ( 24 page maximum for the total paper). A short blue book quiz as well. Started 5 days after our last final. Burnt out does not even begin to describe how I am feeling.

Our LR uses size 10 for footnotes.

My school's write-on is a case note. The case raises an issue that half of the 1L class wrote appellate briefs on. I'm not in that half of the class. Thanks law review!

Good luck everyone! You have to just keep on truckin'.

I tried to work at a decent, methodical pace for the first three days. I worked about 12 hours each day. Then I basically worked two days straight in a total panic. I ended up pulling back to back all-nighters with 3-4 hours of sleep each day at sunrise. 25% of those who started did not finish. It was brutal, but an incredible experience. That is my opinion whether I make it or not.

I woke up this morning with a massive end of 1L celebration hangover and made the mistake of downloading the writing competition file. 79 pages. I had an aneurysm.

79 pages is one of the shortest I've ever heard of -.-

If I'm remembering correctly, UVA's was 200 pages (to write a 10 page paper) + 10 page editing assignment that had to be done in ~75 hours. In the middle of the semester. It was a great big bucket of suck.

i don't understand these long ass "packets". that must suck.

we were given a case, a 14 page limit, and they said see you in two weeks. so i mean, we make our own packets, but still i guess not the upfront investment of some of these others.

I'm doing Harvard's as a transfer applicant. 33 pages of fake article littered with mistakes, for which there are about 500 pages of supporting gunk you have to ream through searching for support, or misquotations as the case may be/usually is, and then of course the 20 page case comment (but really it's more like 8 once you factor in the insanely huge margins, 12 point footnotes, spacing and bizarre character per line limits), for which they've kindly given us 680 or so pages of materials. All due in one week. I'm nearly halfway through the editing exercise. If I'm lucky and finish early I might even try Columbia's in the tail end of the same week, it looks rather manageable.

Holy crap. Are you actually able to peruse all ~1200 pages of material or is this a game of selective reading?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
