Bahcesehir University Society of International Law (BUSIL) hosts the ILSA International Conference at Bahcesehir University in Istanbul, Turkey on 7-10 July 2010. All students and lawyers are invited to attend this event.
The theme of the conference is “Discussing Global Issues within the Framework of the United Nations”.
The subtopics are as follows:
1. The United Nations and the future of Human Rights
2. Can the United Nations still be the foundation of global peace?: Jus ad bellum, Jus in bello , Jus post bellum.
3. Proliferation of courts within the UN system: Problem or solution?
4. The United Nations Security Council and its Role in the 21st Century
5. The United Nations and non-international armed conflicts.
Discussing Global Issues within the Framework of the United Nations, the Conference will be held through three subevents:
The keynote seminars will be composed of lectures given by welknown professors in their fields.
Participating students who proposed qualified papers will present them and discuss their topics within the 20 minutes for each.There will be five presenting student on each panel and a moderator for the afterward discussion
c.Model United Nations (MUN)
There will be a simulation of United Nations including its organs and every participant of MUN will represent a member state of the UN.Delegates will engage in debates under individual committees in order to pass resolutions.The registration of such an event will be closed prior to the conference.
