There are but i've read One L by Scott Turow and am now reading (or about to read) Getting to Maybe

Harper Lee, To Kill a Mockingbird. I suggest that because it's an entertaining novel, which along with Sports Illustrated, National Geographic, and Rolling Stone, is all you should be reading before you start law school.

I agree that Getting to Mabye was good, but stay away from Turow's One L. I read it prior to law school and it put the fear of God in me (the terrible property professor, people ripping pages out of books) 99/100 times that nonsense doesnt happen, even at the Ivy's.
I would suggest A Civil Action by Jonathan Harr. great book, walks through the stresses of law practice (but not the innane nonsense that Turow states). I would also recommend the book "Whose Monet", a Pace law professor wrote it and it glazes over a lot of topics you will talk about 1L 1st semester, and its a really easy read (talks about tort law involving chattels, property, civ pro, etc)
