Brooklyn Law Class of 2014

Didn't see a thread on here for incoming students of BLS. I just sent in my deposit last week and was looking to discuss pre-enrollment issues.

A little about me:
Originally from WA, I went to college in NYC and moved to Brooklyn for a year before moving back out west for another opportunity. I look forward to moving back to Brooklyn. I've applied to the Sparer Fellowship and received a call about an interview next week. Anyone else have any insight to the fellowship, housing, or orientation?

Drop in and say hi!

Hi jj

NJ guy living in the City here.

What have you decided to do re: housing? I put an application in already, and they said we should hear back in mid-May.

Hello all,

Glad I found this thread. Excited about BLS and moving back to the city. I will not be living in campus housing as I have pets, so I will be looking for an apartment in Brooklyn. I just wish August would get here already. Hope to meet you all this Fall.

Also glad this thread was started. I was checking out BLS connect today to get a sense of due dates, etc., and made my way to the academics part of the site... It discusses readings and other assignments we may have for orientation. Any idea when we will be given these resources and when we will be receiving our classes? My guess would be after they receive the tuition deposit in July, but I'm not sure.

Hope to meet you all during orientation. Enjoy your summers-

I haven't seen a facebook page either. Getting impatient to start law school, though. :D I have two friends who just graduated in the past few weeks. Seems like they just started. Less than three months until orientation.

I talked to the woman who does the housing assignments recently. i asked how long she thought we'd have to wait and she said she was trying to finish those who met the first deadline this week or early next.

Has anyone received any communication from Admissions? I think the tuition deposit is due on June 1, but I haven't gotten any e-mails about it.

I got an email reminding me about it today. It said
To continue to reserve a place in Brooklyn Law School's new entering class, each admitted applicant who paid the initial $300 seat deposit is required to pay a subsequent tuition down payment in the amount of $600. The tuition down payment will also be applied against tuition for the first term for those students who matriculate.

Students admitted on or before May 4 will be required to remit this down payment by June 1. Students admitted after May 4 normally will have four weeks from the date of the acceptance letter to make this payment, unless otherwise specified in that letter.
and so on...

No info on whose attention to send it to so I just put admissions office.

So quiet in this thread compared to the others... I'm excited to start in the fall and meet everyone.

Hi Brooklyn 2014ers,

I'm a 1L at UCLA and I have Professor James Park as a professor for Civ Pro. I understand that he previously taught at Brooklyn Law, so I'm wondering if any of you had him for Civ Pro, and if you still have your outlines that you'd be willing to share.

Thanks,
Jeff

Hi,

I can provide an outline. I had him and got an A-. His final is stupid long and his questions practically cover half the class each. I would say that Barbri's CivPro online lectures also helped me out a lot. Private message me and I'll send it along.

Hi everyone, I'm also 1L at UCLA and hoping to find an outline for Professor James Park's Civ Pro class. If anyone had him at Brooklyn and could share an outline, I would really appreciate it! (I didn't hear back from the above poster).

Thanks!
