How much money is to be saved by using Amazon over the bookstore?

Depends, IME can be substantial (like half the cost) if they have the books "used" on Amazon. But on the other hand, for a new edition or whatnot there is usually not much of a difference. What some people did last year is buy an old edition of a casebook for pennies and then when you get the syllabus, just borrow someones current edition for a minute and match up all the cases (the page numbers will likely be a little off). There may be a case or two that isn't in there, but you can always just westlaw or lexis it.

BTW, I still have a bunch of my books left over from 1L and would be glad to sell them to you or anyone else on this board at a price significantly lower than bookstore/amazon. Feel free to PM me once you get your book assignments.

Not officially, but the booklist for every prof is available online, and as it turns out all of the 1L property classes are using the same textbook. I'm just getting antsy

So this is a big moving weekend coming up - we really should set up a TLS dinner/bar meet and greet sometime soon!!

I've got a pretty tight house in Tally. Maybe I'll throw a little jam during orientation if people are interested?? Lots of drinks and no LSAT convo. Or maybe we'll pre and go out. Or maybe no one has any plans of going out during orientation.

...But let me know. I'm game.

I thought it was only two days to begin with.

Oh, and my buddy (who is going into his 3L at FSU) said that the law school throws a party at Pot Belly's for the law students after orientation ends and everybody gets pretty...ya know...so we have that to look forward to.

I'm realizing that many of you may not know what Pot's is, lol. It's an indoor/outdoor bar RIGHT off of campus (practically on campus) and within walking distance of the law school.

Anybody moving to Tally soon and in the market for an HP all-in-one printer or a pull-out sofa and matching love seat? :)

Try a fifteen hour drive! Coming from Maryland.

Yea I'm pretty excited to party in tally, I get in on the thirteenth. So I'd be down for anything then. Got a place at collegewood, a little small but id have people to pre for potbellys. Either way see you guys soon.

Also, I thought I would share this blog with you guys that you may or may not have heard about. I thought it was a fun an interesting read. It is about and written by a recent FSU grad Nathan Marshburn and his experience at FSU from 0L to his graduation this year. Pretty neat insight into the world we are about to enter.

http://nathanmarshburn.blogspot.com/

Also, I found this other blog via one of the comments in Nathan's blog. It is a tough job market out there right now, but this recent grad is taking a slightly humorous and unique approach to getting his info out there. It is for and by Scott Schmidt, another recent FSU grad.

Lol yea seriously. From the facebook group, it sounds like your legal writing prof is what section you're in. I'm with Kahn, anyone else?

I have Kahn too, but that doesn't denote your section. There is a girl who has the same exact schedule as me EXCEPT for in Legal Writing -- we have two totally different professors for that class.

Gotcha, thanks for clearing it up. Do you have all the 8 and 9 am classes? Last semester definitely spoiled me in terms of getting up for class. This summer didn't help either.
