Cost and free housing are hard to beat. It doesn't matter, byu isn't letting me in.

Was visiting an apartment yesterday in Winston, saw the neighborhood and everything looked really nice and almost too good to be true.

Turns out it was, the neighbor was a sex offender...

Don't worry about it. The guy is in his 70's. I'm sure you can outrun him. Plus you are probably too old for his tastes.

But my 15 year old girlfriend is a little bit scared of the idea

I appreciate it. I forgot to double check that when looking for housing.

Yeah thats why I put it on here. Jokes aside there can be some parts of Winston that are not too great and have had some violent crimes recently so it is definitely worth checking the crime report in the area.

^For serious. I was up there this weekend as well looking at places. I am just looking at houses at the moment as I would really like to be in a house as opposed to an apartment complex. I'm not an expert on WS by any means so take this FWIW based on my limited experiences, but the majority of the city south of the law school is not an area I would want to live in. If you get farther south in WS (past Winston Salem State) there are several decent/affordable areas. It also seems like there were some areas close to the law school and north of the school as well that weren't too terrible (though more pricier from what I was looking at).

Edit: http://www.neighborhoodscout.com/nc/win ... lem/crime/
There are several maps like this available if you search google. There are several pockets around the school that do seem to be decent as far as crime stats, but there are DEFINITELY some areas in the city that you will want to avoid.

I didnt realize that the area around the school was so iffy. I was told by some students that the road that connects the law school entrance and the sports complex gets dodgy, so if you drive its ok but you shouldn't be walking it.

Just got WL at UNC, about 95% for Wake.

Quick question- could someone help me find the application for the subsidized Stafford loans?

Sorry misread an article about financial aid and got real confused. Have done the FAFSA already but what is the next step?

No I have not gotten anything from them. Do I have to make a 100% decision before they will send me this?

Also on the FAFSA i put two schools, will this affect the process?

Same here. Thanks for reminding me about this, I should probably get on with sending that page back to them and filling out all the forms for the Feds.

I got that same email as well, and also have done my entrance counseling for the gov't as well. Now I need to tell them how much I want and sign a master promissory note.

Also, I tried to buy a WF Law sweater, but the school's bookstore website did not have any listed. How odd. I want to show my love and support, and look dashing. Where can I get one? I dont wanna wait.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
