Dining hall is only open from 10-2 I think but we usually eat there for lunch (food is fine and it's convenient during the day). There are a few gyms on campus and some are really close by. Also some buildings have a gym in them.

I wouldn't recommend the meal plan cause most of the dining halls you can actually go to are far and used pretty exclusively by undergrads.

I was looking through the Class of 2013 thread and noticed people getting their aid packages in late March/early April. So there's that...

There has been vague mention of student orgs putting up visiting students during Diversity Weekend that weekend, but no real details as of yet.

Admitted and most likely attending, although I would be giving up a large scholarship at WUSTL. Will be visiting st.louis on the 25th and coming to cornell on the 8th.

A few questions that I'll post here and on the "Cornell students taking questions" thread:

1. If I decide not to stay at a student organization's hosted housing, what are some other options to consider?

2. Does anyone have a campus map that highlights the parking lots? I'm still a bit confused at the parking situation on and around campus

3. If there are any South Asian, or Muslim in general, admitted students looking for a roommate, feel free to PM me

I got an e-mail from one of the diversity orgs offering to host me during the ASW. If you identified yourself as a minority, you should be getting one too.

Then take initiative and e-mail them, I'm sure they'll find a way to accommodate you. Have you e-mailed Henry for the travel subsidy?

I did receive a travel subsidy; I'll email around and see if anything sticks.

Hey guys, I know a lot of you are probably thinking about housing for next year, and I just wanted to give you a bit of a heads up. I'm currently UG here at Cornell, recently admitted to their law school and absolutely love the campus.

HOWEVER I caution all of you to watch out for Valentine Park apartments, from Novarr Mackesey. I would strongly discourage you from living here. Not to give too specific details, but in addition to being relatively farther away from than places in Collegetown and much less attractive/comfortable/functional, I've also been having flooding problems that have not been adequately addressed. So, be on the look out! I know a lot of law students live here, because it's relatively cheap and they advertise a gym (pretty crappy) and free parking (usually not enough spots), but just make sure you evaluate all of the other housing options first.
