Anyone have Business Planning: Closely Held Enterprises (American Casebook) 3rd (Third) Edition?
It's for Counseling the small business owner.

Or the Secured Transactions book (Whaley, 8th Ed. (2010))?
Also, my loans already disbursed. How was last semester so horrible and this one so painless and quick?

For Texas residents, I spoke with Stan Eddy (he actually does exist) and the Tuition Equalization Grant should come through this semester.

How much is that? They made me fill out a form for it this year, and I think I might be eligible.kalvano wrote:For Texas residents, I spoke with Stan Eddy (he actually does exist) and the Tuition Equalization Grant should come through this semester.

It varies. It has been around $3600, but he said to expect less this year. Maybe $1500 to $1800 or so.

Anybody have an opinion on Securities Litigation & Enforcement with Flynn? Advanced BK was just canceled and I'm looking for another 2 hour course. Also considering Social Media Law.

Social Media and the Law requires almost no reading or effort, and the instructor is funny. The final is a paper, and I spent about 4 hours on it and got an A-.

Thanks for the help. I believe you mentioned earlier that you had Stahl for ADR. Between Social Media and ADR, which would you take?kalvano wrote:Social Media and the Law requires almost no reading or effort, and the instructor is funny. I didn't take ADR, but friends did.
I would take Social Media. It's a total blowoff class with a cheap book, but it's moderately funny, no need to show up for an exam, and you can spin it fine in interviews since social media is such a hot topic right now.

Anyone in Texas Rangers' Bankruptcy? There's nothing on TWEN or SMU's website and I haven't gotten an email from the professor. Going in blind is concerning me a little but I hope this means the first class will be short/unimportant.

Re: SMU 2014
Does anyone have any thoughts about Professional Responsibility with Weaver vs. IP with Robinson? I like Robinson (had him before), and am somewhat interested in IP (not patent), but I know PR is required.
What about taking the MPRE before you take PR, or taking them concurrently? Bad, good, doesn't matter?

Re: SMU 2014
Take the MPRE as soon as you can and get it over with.
I just sat through the first day of PR today (I bet it's full) and it's miserable. I thought about stabbing myself in the face and trying to get out of the class, but I doubt she would let me. The class is going to suck so badly. And even if you've taken the MPRE, you still have to take it.
I imagine it would be at least elventy-billion times worse with Bridge.

PR with Weaver shows two seats open. No one wants to take Bridge (for anything!)--that's why Weaver's class is so full.

Relevant to this thread:
kalvano wrote:Goddammit, Professional Rsponsibility is a certifiable nightmare. I can't believe I've got a whole semester of this shit when I've already passed the MPRE. The fucking professor says if anyone's phone rings in class, she will confiscate it and keep it overnight. And that being on the Internet during class is "professional misconduct" and we are bound by the Model Rules to report on other students.
I fucking hate her stupid fucking face. I hated her from the moment she introduced herself as "Professor" instead of using her name like a normal human being, and by 20 minutes in, I was seriously pondering how I would handle jail, because I was ready to throw my laptop at her head.
Goddammit.
