missymary can you give us an idea of the class schedule for a 1L? Do you have a class every day of the week? What are the start/end times for the day generally?

Also, in Nov I visited and a current 1L lady that has an hour commute spoke to the group. Do you have any intel on how that is working out for her?

I am thinking about getting a 2 story- one bedroom in Shadowood. I am going to drive down a few days early before ASW and check out all the housing developments.

I can answer this based off what people told me during Chancellor Scholars' weekend. As a 1L you will have class everyday of the week, yes including fridays. Also, between class and studying they said it's equivalent to an 8 hour workday, with about 15-25 pages to read per class a night, so with 5 classes, but one of them is legal writing (which is pass/fail btw), so that's 4 classes of reading every night for about 60-100 pages of reading a night. The 1L I talked to said, however, it's more like 60 than it is 100.

Which admitted student day will you guys attend (if any)? I was planning on going to both to meet more potential classmates, but it looks like that may not be an option.

You can't go to both, unless you actually attend one and kind of just lurk around the other, but that would be suspect as fuck. I am attending the 8th.

Either a button up and Khakis or a button up, blazer and jeans with like oxfords or desert boots. So like upscale casual I guess. I don't really think you have to be business casual or formal. Dean States sends what the dress code is in his e-mails, he did it for Chancellors' Scholar weekend, so I'd expect him to do the same here.

I've heard good things about Glen Lennox. It's probably where I'd live if I go.

I wish they sent one with the admit letter like UGA.

All the people admitted in December got an official acceptance in the mail a few weeks later. Probably the Febuary admits did too

Same for the Feb admits.

I still haven't heard back or seen a change in my application since beginning of the month--is UNC notoriously slow?

No, but I haven't really gotten a packet from anywhere, unless you count an acceptance and a scholarship offer together in the same envelope, or the mass mailings from W&L.

I've gotten packets from Fordham, Brooklyn and I have gotten multiple packets (including employment data) from Notre Dame. The lack of stuff sent to me is making me feel unwanted by UNC. I would really like the Employment Statistics from them.

Becca, did Dean Lewis say he was going to send that out to us at Chancellors' Weekend or do we have to request it?
