I'm not sure. It's possible that there are some students who were admitted a while ago and are just now joining I guess.

This would be my guess. The email I got assessing interest (right before the actual acceptance) said that the group of acceptances that I was a part of was the last one. Plus, there have been way too many people added in the past couple weeks to be waitlisters considering the TLS/LSN silence on any more waitlist action.

It could also be 2Ls and 3Ls

anybody arriving this weekend?

(some of the new group members are definitely 2L or 3L. But the total number of members is still below the approximate number admitted to chicago. I wonder where the others are. Is there a cool group somewhere? )

If you don't mind me asking, when did you get off the waitlist?

oh lucky. I don't get there until saturday evening, and probably not to hide park until 8 or later...which slightly worries me haha. (I've never been to chicago much less hyde park, and I don't exactly know where my apartment is/looks like)

There's at least one JSD candidate in the group as well. There could be a few LLM's who have transferred into the JD program; although they'd probably enter the 2013 cohort. As an LLM I'm not really sure why I'm posting here, but I guess I'm in a similar (ish) situation to a 1L. I've already been practising for three years though, so its not quite the same.

I'm already in Chicago, but still have no clue when I'll be moving down to Hyde Park.

Maybe this is just my 0L fear kicking in, but is anyone interested in going in on the LEEWS audio program with me? The cost is $175, and additional LEEWS Primers can be purchased for $40 (the audio program comes with one copy of the Primer). I'm sort of interested in attending the live program (it's cheaper and would force you to go through all the material), but the Chicago session is scheduled for Nov. 20 - just a few weeks before exams. If we could get a group to go in on this together, that would be even better. Here's the website if you want more info: http://www.leews.com/program.html

If there are any rising 2Ls or 3Ls who are looking to sell their LEEWS CDs/Primer, I'd be interested in that as well. Emma - do people tend to put LEEWS up for sale along with other supplements/used books?

Maybe I'll just keep my eye on lawannounce...

I was accepted off the waitlist just a couple weeks ago. I'm not moving in yet since my housing app is still being processed.

For those who got off the waitlist in August, since the deadline has passed, did you figure out a way to fill out the incoming student directory form as well as the incoming student profile?

I read GTM and thought it was pretty good. My law school prep has been: GTM, 30p of Planet Law School before giving up (what is this guy's problem?), and then a little book called Starting Off Right in Law School (about 100 pages or so). I bought a few of E&Es and supplements, but really just to have them. I've glanced at a few topics, but I'm not trying to learn anything from them. The reason I'm not so interested in LEEWS right now is that the fall exam schedule is light, and of the two exams, one won't follow the traditional format at all. Also, LEEWS seems pretty straight forward. I'm pretty sure that taking a few practice exams will be enough to catch me up to speed on how to systematically go through a traditional issue spotter. That said, if I take a practice exam in November and find that I'm totally lost, I may consult LEEWS. GTM is not a fan of LEEWS, and I thought their explanation (examples) of why was pretty entertaining.

This is a very long response.

Good point. I think I'm with you on waiting to see how practice exams are going before consulting LEEWS.

Yeah, initially they wanted a photo the day I was admitted (but I was on the road driving to Cornell  ) They granted me an extension until 2 days later. I filled out the form thing online.
