The way I see it is you have these state rivalries and if you don't win your state you don't get to compete on the national level. The fact they're both in NY but Columbia wins the CLS debate means Cornell doesn't get to be up for consideration at the national level.

The fact that they're both in fairly long-lasting relationships (and that Kelsi had one last through law school), combined with Thomas' comment that "everyone ended up fine" is helping me drink the Chicago Kool-Aid.

& omg wtg Thomas, integrating "rigor" three times in one sentence!!
