Anyone withdraw their apps already? Starting to send them now. Annoyed that I took a shot in the dark at Harvard. Have to snail mail them a withdrawal.

I am so so happy to be a part of this group! I can't wait to tell my students in a few minutes. Sending out the withdrawals soon too.

Also, will email the admissions office to see if they will send the handbook to Korea. I'd rather not wait till my parents forward it.

Who is going to ASW? If I get time off of work and get a deal on a flight, I'll be there. :) See you all in the fall!

Just sent out all my withdrawal requests. :)

I have to say, my (Korean) relatives who "oohed" and "aahed" at my Cornell acceptance seem less enthusiastic about my UChicago acceptance :P I don't think any of them had really heard of it before.

I just looked up flights from Korea -> home (LA) -> Chicago -> Korea, and... whew. Steep price for ASW weekend!

The kids didn't understand Chicago until I explained the T14 to them. then the ooh's and aah's. Too bad about the price. Maybe I can get the parents to give me some of their frequent flyer miles...

I wonder how many more of this Chicago class is out here in Korea..We should have our own ASW!

I think we should get used to it. Chicago doesnt have much lay prestige, even here in the U.S., even though our current President and his latest SCOTUS nominee both were professors here in the not so distant past.
My mom, also Korean, was like: "so, Chicago huh? Are you sure you want to go there?" I think she's sad that when she's trying to brag about her son in law school, her friends wont know anything except Ivy league names and UCLA/Berkeley.

When does the facebook group start?

WRT Chicago's lay prestige I think calling Chicago the Princeton of law schools sounds about right to me.

Most likely end up in Regents. It's a pretty good deal for law students and one of my wife's friends lives there and has nothing but good things to say about it.

Have you looked at the Regents website? Read your posts and was inspired to check it out. It looks so nice. So much better than anywhere I've lived so far. Pretty pretty tempting.

Of course, the New Grad is on campus -- but there is a shuttle from Regents. I wish I could go to ASW to help make my decision -- but that won't happen :(

Yeah it's really nice and a lot of LS students live there because of the discount. I would definitely give it some serious consideration if I were you.

Yeah, the only thing I dont like is that you have to pay for the gym membership, and it doesnt seem that close to the on campus gym, which would invariably make me not go.

Soju, take a look at this post/map made by someone from Chicago:
http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 22&t=84243

It may be able to help you at least look into the city even though you wont make asw

Great article and map. Thanks! Luckily there is plenty of time to sort this all out and make a decision.

HOw do you send the deposit in with no form or anything? I thought it was going to come with the website, but I guess I could just mail a check...?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
