You tell people you're going to law school? That's your first mistake right there.

Easiest way: Petition NYU to change their name to Barksdale University

Can't NYU just spin off the law school and then have the department merge with NYLS? 1000+ class for the win?

My take on the whole law school differentiation thing: I'm going to law school. I never say which, most people don't care to ask. Though, if I were going to H or Y (the two almost unanimously recognized premier schools for... anything really.), I'd name drop like there was no tomorrow. I may even murmur the law school part.

Go to Columbia...But seriously, do you really care what someone who can't tell the difference between NYLS and NYU thinks? The only people who's opinion counts are potential employers and they know the difference.

I was just making fun. I don't actually care in any real way, but I think we can expand "people whose opinions count" beyond employers, right? Not that going to a good law school is socially appealing beyond obtaining legal employment or anything. But my priiiide!

Yeah... so I don't know where my head was at yesterday, but I'm actually section 3 then 7 for lawyering.

Are you guys positive these schedules are right? Arthur Miller? Did I do something bad in a previous life, and it's all hitting the fan now?

I'm more concerned about the tonic water, and whether it's still delicious when mixed with liquor. I don't think this will be an issue though.

Ice cold tap water is the truth.

Also, worked out at Palladium last night. It's pretty nice and if you have your student ID card it's only $10 for the rest of August.

Really? I sailed directly up to one of the intake cribs in Lake Michigan, and... I dunno.

Maybe it was the massive thunderstorm that threw my friend overboard as we were coming back that soured me on it?

Not sure, but filtration isn't exactly expensive. I bought that before furniture.

NYC tap water is incredibly clean. So clean that a company, Tap'd NY, sells bottled NYC tap water nationally (http://articles.latimes.com/2009/feb/25 ... tapwater25). NYC is one of only five cities that is not required to filter its drinking water (http://www.nyc.gov/html/dep/html/drinki ... ndex.shtml). Admittedly, I have a filter jug in my fridge, but it's mostly to keep the water cold.

And here I thought living on the shore of 20% of the world's fresh water was an advantage. Go figure.

This part of Cleveland's water supply, rather than coming from the Great Lakes comes from local streams that flow through...abandoned sandstone quarries.

Yeah, they really thought that one through.

Wikipedia wrote:Miller was one of the real figures on whom Scott Turow based the pseudonymous Harvard Law Professor Rudolph Perini in Scott Turow's bestselling memoir of his first year in law school, One L. Although Turow has never acknowledged or denied the connection, Miller has long thought himself the real Perini,[6] and conventional wisdom in the legal community has largely concurred.[7][8] In the book, Perini is depicted as brilliant but imperious, with a caustic wit and a flair for the dramatic. Readers of the book familiar with Harvard Law School and the history of Turow's three years at HLS have deduced that Turow took Miller, whose civil procedure course he took, and assigned his fictional counterpart Perini to teach contracts, and he also took Duncan Kennedy, his contracts professor, and transformed him into the civil procedure professor Nicky "Beat Nick" Morris.
