Am I the only one who's terrified about moving to such a big city?

Re: NYU Class of 2014
I've pretty much come to terms with it, although living in an urban environment at my last school helped.
Especially with a city like NY, you literally can make whatever you want of it, so I don't think it should be too intimidating (unless you can't control getting distracted by things going on there, in which case it can be a problem).
It'll be fun!!

I'm definitely a little nervous, but definitely way more excited than nervous. There will be A LOT of people coming from all sorts of different areas. You definitely won't be alone in being a little uncomfortable at first.spacepenguin wrote:I'm totally down.birdlaw117 wrote:Pshh. Don't feel left out. We're going to need all summer to come up with a smooth explanation for why there's a huge chunk of us from completely different states/UGs who all know each other...birdlaw117 wrote:Pshh. Alien mind control implementation. Probably the most believable explanation to pull off, and not too far from the truthlaw_monkey wrote:We're going to need all summer to come up with a smooth explanation for why there's a huge chunk of us from completely different states/UGs who all know each other...birdlaw117 wrote:Pshh. We can always just say we met at ASW... And then make a couple connections from one ASW to another, like meeting at student housing...law_monkey wrote:We're going to need all summer to come up with a smooth explanation for why there's a huge chunk of us from completely different states/UGs who all know each other...birdlaw117 wrote:Pshh. You're not forgotten. I didn't go to ASW1 either. I've only met one person in this thread since the only TLSers I met didn't end up choosing NYU. I just chill in this thread a lot and pretend like I know everyone.melamine wrote:haha - its okay, we'll just form our own "forgotten NYU TLS thread". lol.spacepenguin wrote:Well now I feel really left out...

Definitely one of the more underrated shows. It's a shame it had to end. Reunion show high five.

Re: NYU Class of 2014
So I have a somewhat serious question for people in the thread who are pursuing NYU's housing: Does anyone know whether one can bank on having one of their first four choices, or a reasonable assignment if you checked that you'd accept an alternate assignment if none of the four were available? In other words: do I need to be worried about not receiving housing and having to figure this out myself on short notice?
I realize I probably shouldn't get too concerned about this, but any reassurance would be appreciated. (Obviously I should probably be worrying more about even paying for housing, as half of the assignments cost more than I could afford... but we'll see.)

Re: NYU Class of 2014
I asked this in another thread:
As for whether you usually get your 1st choice or 4th, I have no idea--but at least you'll have housing!Renzo wrote:For 1Ls, yes. And I have yet to hear of anyone who wanted on campus housing as an upper-classman who didn't get it, but theoretically 1Ls get preference.spacepenguin wrote:Is the on-campus housing pretty much guaranteed for those who want it?
