I got a four day extension, so thankfully I don't have to decide the SAME DAY I get my Columbia package. Other people only got one day though...
Haha yeah I talked to some people that got 1 day extensions. Lame.

If our deadline is 4/4 does that mean we have to accept during the day tomorrow (and if so, what time during the day?) or is it we have to decide BEFORE 4/4 i.e. today?????

People that know NYC better than I do:

What's the deal on Brooklyn? How much would one expect to pay there? A friend of mine is looking for a roommate, which sounds awesome 'cause I already know him, but I'm hesitant about doing Brooklyn my first year..?

I'd just try to be as close to the rest of my classmates as possible but that's just me. I haven't been to Brooklyn in years, but it's definitely cheaper than anything NYU or around NYU would offer. But why don't you just ask your friend the rent and then compare that to the housing options around NYU?

Yeah, that is my thought too.. but I can't do campus housing because of my cat ( ) so that's out anyway. He wants to move, but what he currently pays is waaaayy less than anything I could afford around NYU so I'm wondering how bad of an idea this is lol

See you there! I don't know if you're sure about not living in student housing, but I think as long as you notify them before July 1 (I think) you don't have to pay a penalty. So it might be worth filling out the housing app just in case.

I will be joining the deposit party shortly! I'm just giving it a little longer because I want to get the NYC guidebook from Columbia (hopefully they're still sending that out). I mean I'm still gonna be in the city, just not at their school.

This is why you send in your deposit before CLS accepts you. That way, you aren't required to withdraw  . Then again, I probably won't get accepted at CLS, so it probably doesn't matter!

They accepted me last week, so I'm just hoping they have it in the mail already. :(

Yeah I know, not exactly something that's worthy of a sad face though, haha. I'm not sure if I've congratulated you on your scholly yet, but that's so awesome! I'm super jelly... I'm not planning on going into PI, but the NYU PI culture is one of the most appealing parts to me.

Ok true, change it to a neutral face. And yeah the PI community is what won me over during the ASW, so I was basically set on attending even before the offer. This is so exciting now that we're starting to know who our classmates will actually be!!! Can't wait to meet you all in person!

Is there a Facebook group for the class of 2014 TLS members? We should all meet up when we get to campus. PM me.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
