Well according to the expense budget, books and supplies will run at about $1400.
I hope that includes every supplement known to man

Yea, I know. I still have some money. Just not as much as I did, since I spent a lot of savings. Thanks for telling me though.melamine wrote: so technically - i think (though double check) you won't actually get any money put into your actual bank account until early september... just fyi.

Burning them once classes are done would allow you to harvest that gold.birdlaw117 wrote:I assume our books are bound with gold.spacepenguin wrote:glitched wrote:does anyone know approx. how much first semester books are going to cost?

Good news guys! I just received my packet with all the enrollment and tuition instructions! You know... after all the deadlines and whatnot. Sweet.
ETA: Ironically, I just checked Albert and I'm financially cleared. Not sure if anyone else has reported that yet (haven't seen it, but I'm lazy and not going to check).

Are we supposed to get summer reading? I seem to vaguely remember something about that but haven't gotten an assignment from NYU (I think).

The set of orientation forms we got said that we were supposed to get a reading assignment of some sort, but I haven't received any yet.slmc12 wrote:Are we supposed to get summer reading? I seem to vaguely remember something about that but haven't gotten an assignment from NYU (I think).

make copies of this and mail it in. worked fine for melzyovrachievr wrote:Yea, I have an immunization card that's been stamped and all, but it's not really certified. I'm thinking that the doctor that's going to sign the form won't be too happy with it.whathojeeves wrote:I have an immunization card certified from my pediatrician that was required by the other doctor who actually signed my form. You may have the same somewhere.lzyovrachievr wrote:Yay! I have monies in my bursar account! Which is good since after this week, a broker's fee, and a security deposit, I have like no money in my actual account.
Still have to do the immunization form though. I don't have a regular doctor. Did you guys just make an appointment with a random doctor to get that paperwork signed?
All my loans and whatnot finally went through. Can anyone give an educated guess as to how much living in NY costs a month? Im referring to monthly costs not including rent, tuition, books etc... just food and other needs.

Somewhere between 600 and 1100 depending on how much you want to drink and where.parsi wrote:make copies of this and mail it in. worked fine for melzyovrachievr wrote:Yea, I have an immunization card that's been stamped and all, but it's not really certified. NYU 2014 - Casebooks, Lawyering Book, Bluebook for Sale
1Ls - I am offering several casebooks, two copies of the most recent bluebook, and the Lawyering book for a substantial discount. The casebooks are:
Miller/Wright/Hershkoff (Civil Procedure) (lightly marked in pencil, spine condition fine)
Kadish/Schulhofer (Criminal Law) (some highlighting throughout)
Epstein (Torts) (heavily highlighted in some sections)
I bought my textbooks the same way last year and saved some money. PM me if you're interested.

Some of the 2Ls said that they actually got the funds direct-deposited during the 2nd week of the semester.

Re: NYU Class of 2014
Did everyone else get the Third Orientation Letter email a couple hours ago? I expected some chatter on here. The reading assignment is now available here: http://law.nyu.edu/students/studentaffa ... /index.htm. It's about three pages long, is surprisingly riddled with typos, and is about an accidental shooting on a hunting trip (but doesn't involve Dick Cheney).
Also, we can show up at any point between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM on August 24th. The registration process takes about 30 minutes.
There's some other stuff too, but those are the new and important details.
