Perhaps already answered, but I'm feeling lazy.

Does anyone know when orientation starts (or, whatever, the first day an attendee needs to be in Austin?) Thanks! Even a general sort of "it should start this week" would help me to plan.

was that through CASH on the OSFS webpage? I used that as an undergrad but I'm not sure if it's the right website for the law school.

I dont remember the name, but it was for the entire university, not just the law school.

When I talked to the financial aid office during ASD they said that they were trying to get out offers early enough for people to make decisions before deadlines, but that they hadn't dispersed need-based-aid yet, and that you shouldn't count on it, because they don't know how much they are going to get.. fwiw.

OOSer checking in. Hi all!

I heard from a current 2L on ASD that he turned down harvard for a full ride at UT and couldn't have been happier with his decision. He was law review, so rose-colored glasses may apply, but it's still cool to hear.

Do law students make it out to football games often?

I've seen a lot of law students at football games. I believe we'll get second priority for seating. (4th yr seniors, law/grad students,5th year seniors, juniors, sophomores, freshmen). I don't know if you're aware of how football tix work at UT so here's the rundown.

In late summer, you can buy a season ticket package through the Texas Box Office website. You can create a group with a name and password, distribute that info to your friends and get season tickets together. That's the route I have always taken. You can also get the longhorn all sports package (LASP) when you register for classes, which lets you get lottery tickets for football games. You have to be at the box office at a certain time on a certain day to get them. To get season tickets, you have to first buy the sports package. Both packages also get you into games for all the other sports. Or there's always stubhub for a lot more money.

Sports package = $60
season tickets = $70 extra

So does anyone have any idea on how well Texas grads place in California? I know that the overwhelming majority of grads tend to stay in Texas, often because of choice but I'm sure they could leave if they wanted. I originally grew up in Texas, but have lived in California for the past 10 years of my life and am somewhat partial to being able to return to California. I'm seriously considering UT cuz it's the best school I've gotten into.

Dress code at admitted students weekend was casual. Most people were in slightly dressier attire (read jeans and nicer shirt). It's shorts weather in Austin right now but it's really cold inside the law school.

I just had a great trip out to Austin/UT. I was really blown away by how happy and friendly all the students were, and, of course, the amazingness that is Austin. Not to mention, meeting with Dean Sager allayed a lot of my concerns about picking UT over some higher-ranked schools. The only thing that could sway me away from UT at this point would be an acceptance at Stanford, but, barring that, I think I'll be seeing y'all in the fall! (Texan slang and rhyming all in one sentence, wooo!)
