Full tuxedo. Nothing less

But actually, probably just a presentable dress shirt and some slacks

I'll be at ASW next weekend. My friend got tickets to the Yankees opening day though, so I'm leaving early on the 31st.

Wear something nice - a skirt and blouse if you're a woman, khakis/dress pants and a button down if you're a man. Jeans and a nice top is also passable, honestly. Just don't wear a suit, or even touch business casual. Everyone at these things is laid back, and at the last ASW we made fun of the 3-4 people who had showed up wearing suits. ;)
Ooooh saved! Thanks.

I'll be there Thursday. Don't mistake me for a professor - I'm just a fat, bald, non-trad. student.

Talked to people who had her at ASW I. She's supposed to be excellent (and not too aggressive with the cold-calling).

She was my ConLaw prof 1L year. She's wonderful, sweet, and very open to class discussion.

Hello, to any 0Ls: Any one considering the Arbor? I like the price, location seems nice (in and of itself, not in terms of distance). Thoughts?
To any1/2/3Ls: know anyone in the Arbor? Is it a schlep?

lol, okay, I actually opened the PDF to print it, and it's actually a family law class. So that's kinda different. I should call them to see if there are additional classes available to sit in on.

Huh? Didn't they send you the schedule with like 400 classes?

It's for a mock class at the Thursday ASD. If you didn't RSVP, they probably didn't send you the reading.

So a NYU Law student and a Columbia Law student meet in a bar and start talking about how expensive everything in NYC is, and how they can barely afford to buy a beer on their birthdays... sounds like the beginning of a joke, but is actually a great service that some 2L's concocted when they should have been studying.

The result of their meeting is a website that provides free birthday planning, free entrance to clubs and bars, expedited entry, and complimentary bottles on your birthday, or any time you want to stop staring at your torts casebook.

Welcome to all of the new Columbia Law students joining us in the city! We figured we'd go ahead and share this with you now, before you drop $210k on law school. :)

Jumping in on the mock class discussion from above. I procrastinated and waited until today to register for this week's ASW and was going to ask where to find the readings. Looks like I should expect them to send me my homework? And that we all have different classes?

Thanks y'all. I'm such a nerd that I am excited for fake class.

Anyone else have Professor Burnett doing Chan Chae Ping v. US?

I had Dubler's family law reading during the first ASP and she was really good. Very engaging, and people volunteered answerers, they weren't called on. Even in an hour we managed to have a lot of thought provoking discussion and I would be very interested to take her next year.

A word of advice to people visiting Columbia this week: when you visit classes, try to visit 1L classes because they will be more accessible and give a more realistic education of what it will be like. I visited some upper elective classes and you could tell the atmosphere was different from 1L classes. Also, upper electives are a little bit harder to understand because they reference a lot of past material.

Enjoy Columbia! I had a blast!

+1. I can't believe that I have homework :) . This has probably already been discussed but what is everybody doing about the CLS/NYU overlap?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
