Definitely. We should get something set up closer to the date.HeavenWood wrote:Hopefully most of us can meet up before classes start.

Re: Penn Law Class of 2014
Sorry if this has been asked already, but where do 1Ls usually live? Particularly those straight out of undergrad? Do they usually live in Sansom or off-campus, and if off-campus, is there a general area? I would prefer to live in an area that has other law students/grad students. Any info is appreciated!

Is the $500 deposit the only one we have to send? No second deposit?

Re: Penn Law Class of 2014
Hey guys. I am about to withdraw from Penn, and will be giving up the apartment I was holding. I spent an entire day checking out buildings in the Rittenhouse area. The leasing agent was really nice and flexible, and I almost feel bad that I had to ask for my deposit back. So I figured I might be able to kill two birds with one stone here, and direct somebody to a sick apartment (fyi, I have no stake in this, just thought I might be able to help somebody).
Details:
* $1200 /mo (one month free rent when you sign up, so $1100 /mo, basically)
* Rittenhouse area
* Biggest studio in the building
* Top floor
pm me if you want other details. It's really a great place IMO.

Re: Penn Law Class of 2014
Hey everyone,
I'm looking to get a 2br 2bath apartment at 2400 Chestnut (http://www.2400chestnut.com/amenities.html) or somewhere similar, and am currently looking for a roommate. Although I'm not going to be attending Penn Law, I am a Penn alum, and my LD boyfriend recommended that I make a post here. I'm a 20-something female working professional at a financial services company in Center City, and I'd consider myself quiet, hardworking, and considerate. I also have a very well trained 15-lb shih-tzu, who is non-barky, housebroken, and does not shed. I'd obviously take responsibility for every aspect of his care.
PM me if you're interested!

If anyone is looking for an apartment- my friend was going to penn law- just got off the waitlist to nyu today and he now has a room he needs to sublet. he's living with two penn (undergrad) alums who are both working and very easy going and just looking for someone friendly. the apartment is really nice and in a great location. the room is also surprisingly cheap ($800/month). if anyone's looking for an apt, PM me and I can give you more details and pictures.

Re: Penn Law Class of 2014
I was unexpectedly in NYC late last week so I drove over to the campus to see it for the very first time. I was a bit taken back by the amount of law school construction. I suppose they will have it completed by the end of August. The security guard gave me a pass and I toured around for an hour. Impressive.
Hard to believe that August is already here. Plans now are to arrive around the 23rd and stay at a hotel for a week until I find a place. So much to do in so little time. See you soon.

Should be a great improvement to the school though I'm sad I won't see the finished product any time in the foreseeable future.

It is TERRIBLE.r6_philly wrote:They have door to door shuttle service after hours covering most of the UC to Rittenhouse. Free. Also if you are walking/biking you can ask one of the public safety to escort you. It isn't like 15 years go, a lot safer now.
ETA: grad housing is crap though. I hear enough of it. I live at home so not first hand knowledge.
