I hate how Penn doesn't think that this counts as the first week of March
Unless, that is, no one on TLS got any named scholarships

Do we have any expected dates for when the rest of the merit packages start getting announced? I'm getting impatient

Named scholarship invitees are supposed to hear back "during the first week of March." I would've thought this meant last week, but no matter how you look at it, today (March 7th) is the last possible day that could fall into "first week of March," correct?! So today must be the day!!

Yeah I want them to hurry up and get on to the other offers too. Penn is now officially the only school I haven't withdrawn from that I have no $ info for. I have a chart with everything on it, and it's ridiculously expensive right now compared to the other ones.r6_philly wrote:The slowness is killing my strategy.

You forgot to factor in the 20% Ivy discount (or premium, depends on how you frame it) ...law_monkey wrote:Yeah I want them to hurry up and get on to the other offers too. I'm not factoring in anything until I know where I stand.r6_philly wrote:You forgot to factor in the 20% Ivy discount (or premium, depends on how you frame it) ...law_monkey wrote:Yeah I want them to hurry up and get on to the other offers too. Guess Penn has a different conception of "first week of March" than the rest of us...

We are on break now too. I don't know if that means they are going to be working more, or less.

From my conversations with folks in their office, part of the reason there is such a delay is that when they do begin releasing information, it will be for a LOT of people. Pretty much anyone accepted up until mid-Feb can expect their finaid by mid-March, i.e. the next 7-10 days.
* And the release of all this finaid info could be one huge batch, possibly.

I think the operative word for those of us without any named invites (have only Levy gone out? or have first round invites been issued for all the big scholarships?) is "meh". Yeah me too! I have no idea what to expect from them, and I'm going to have major hesitation if I get nothing/barely anything. A substantial Dean's scholly will be greatly appreciated! Also, since there's such a delay does that mean they're sending out ALL financial aid info and not just scholly information? I don't know how it went last year.Excellence = a Habit wrote:I'll take it!!!swampthang wrote:I think the operative word for those of us without any named invites (have only Levy gone out? or have first round invites been issued for all the big scholarships?) is "meh". You get it all at the same time if I recall correctly.

Just got an email. I got a Levy Scholarship! I emailed them asking if a decision had been made yet earlier today, but the scholarship email wasn't formatted as a response to my email, so hopefully the rest of the decisions will be out soon.

I'm not even in the running for a named scholarship, but I still hope I hear about a Dean's scholarship sometime soon now!
