I've heard OCI works out the same, but I'm interested in lit, so not being able to grade on to LR is concerning since I'm hoping to clerk. Anyways, I need to make this choice this weekend and would love some advice.
Ask NU to tell you whether any recent AJD grads are clerking. There are AJD grads, right? I can't remember how long ago they started that program.

If giving yourself a shot at clerking is a must-do, and AJD kids are much less likely to clerk, then don't AJD. If you decide that clerking is just as likely from an AJD, then it sounds like a cool opportunity. Either way, see you in August!

I wonder if they're in order of application quality or in order of submission. I'm not expecting anything but looking forward to knowing for sure. I'm also looking forward to a lot of "NU $ or X" threads popping up this week - they'll be interesting to read.

I'm wondering if they took my financial aid app out of the pile and tossed it when they granted my deferral, or if my app is still going to go through the whole process to award/not award me money I can't use because it doesn't defer with my admission. :)

Anyone get anything yet?

I just got my WashU award email right after Johann's tweet. I was confused for a second about what was happening.

If they are starting with the most worthy, in six months I will get an email saying, "Sorry, Hon--no can do $$!" Congratulations to this first round!!!

Hi everyone!!

I deferred admission to spend a year abroad but am getting so so excited to move to Chicago!

Also really hoping I'll get some $$ but I don't know how likely that is...

Anyone else heard?

Dude, have you not been put in touch with any AJD students who can help you decide? There have got to be a few who'd be willing to chat with you.

"Also- your parents should not be calling for you. can't talk to them anyway. something about privacy and being an adult."

This tweet by Johann literally made me snort coffee up my nose as I attempted to silently guffaw at work. +a billion.

Well with some not so surprising news from Cambridge and a disappointing letter from DC, it looks like I will probably be NU bound, however a full ride would make my choice quite easy.

Looking forward to meeting some of you in a few weeks.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
