Chances of Top 45-50 To CLS or NYU
Hey Guys. Just got fall grades back, which were A's in crim and civ pro, A-'s in contracts and legal writing, and a B+ in torts. Comes out to a 3.77 which should put me around 5%-10% at my school ranked top 45-50. I would really love to transfer to either CLS or NYU, but would certainly be happy with just about any T14, so you know the drill. Assuming I were to maintain this, what are my chances?
P.S please disregard the name as I didn't understand the douchey connotation when I made it as an 0L

I think you have a good chance at NYU and reasonable chance at CLS if you maintain your grades.

Maintain and get into the top 5%. Top 10% might be a little risky.

Thanks guys. School obviously doesn't rank first semester so this is based off of rankings from class of 2017 and '18 at my school and the rank calculator on TLS. Is there any other more accurate way to determine rank I'm missing here?

You seem pretty knowledgeable in the transfer game. If not CLS/NYU, top 10% should likely get me in the T14, right?Nebby wrote:You've got a shot. Maintain or improve and apply

Yes. What do you want to do? If NYC/DC biglaw, then throw an app at Upenn and GULC.Gunner19 wrote:You seem pretty knowledgeable in the transfer game. If not CLS/NYU, top 10% should likely get me in the T14, right?Nebby wrote:You've got a shot. Maintain or improve and apply

The goal is NYC biglaw. Probably will just end up blanketing T14Nebby wrote:Yes. What do you want to do? Before you blow ~$1000 on transfer apps, look at the class sizes. If I recall correctly, a few schools only take in 5-10 transfers. I think Duke may be one of those...but could be mistaken.Gunner19 wrote:The goal is NYC biglaw. Probably will just end up blanketing T14Nebby wrote:Yes. What do you want to do? Good thought, but I'm thinking in the long run $1000 is rather insignificant compared to the opportunities I gain by a move into the T14RaceJudicata wrote:Before you blow ~$1000 on transfer apps, look at the class sizes.
