Re: 2016 Berkeley Transfer Thread
Anyone ask when the deadline to accept the offer/submit a deposit is? I could not really talk on the phone when they called me so I didn't get a chance to ask any question.

I thought we got no financial aid other than FAFSA. But that's just what I assumed.estefanchanning wrote:Did anyone ask over he phone info regarding financial aid?

Re: 2016 Berkeley Transfer Thread
You could be right, although I swear I read somewhere that they offer need-based aid. Also, apparently transfer write-on happens at the same time as their Early Interview Week. What's up with that?mac35352 wrote:I thought we got no financial aid other than FAFSA. But that's just what I assumed.estefanchanning wrote:Did anyone ask over he phone info regarding financial aid?

Re: 2016 Berkeley Transfer Thread
At least in the past they have offered limited need-based aid to transfers... I don't think many receive it. EIW is the first week in August. According to CLR's website, the write-on for transfer students ends on July 24 (http://www.californialawreview.org/write-on/). There is no overlap there, other than write-on occurring during the bidding period, which is quite different.estefanchanning wrote:You could be right, although I swear I read somewhere that they offer need-based aid. In via phone yesterday too!
Btw did anyone get a confirmation email?
I recall the dean saying they were going to send something via email. Then again I can't really remember because I was too excited after I got the phone call.

He did not mention sending an email. He did say they were sending something in regular mail.scubasteve1208 wrote:In via phone yesterday too!

I recall him telling me the same -- that an email and official letter of acceptance was forthcoming. Have not received anything yet though.scubasteve1208 wrote:In via phone yesterday too!

Re: 2016 Berkeley Transfer Thread
For those admitted, did you stress a need to be in SF area? I just said generic things like better career prospects, etc.
(Clearly, all the admits so far are top applicants, but I'm curious about if they specified a reason to be in Berkeley geographically)

Re: 2016 Berkeley Transfer Thread
I did not. I did, however, specify that I owned a home in Southern California and expressed a general desire for my family (wife and kids) to move into that home and plant roots in CA.clshopeful wrote:For those admitted, did you stress a need to be in SF area? Re: 2016 Berkeley Transfer Thread
Nope, I sent in a generic PS that didn't even mention why I wanted to be in CA. I have zero ties to CA.clshopeful wrote:For those admitted, did you stress a need to be in SF area? I just said generic things like better career prospects, etc.

Not really. Only thing I mentioned was my interest in intellectual property.clshopeful wrote:For those admitted, did you stress a need to be in SF area? I just said generic things like better career prospects, etc.
