They like to cherrypick kids from local schools (4 from Brooklyn, 4 from Fordham and 1 from Cardozo)

Yeah, NYU takes a lot of students from the local area.

Had the same update. I guess they were reviewing some applications yesterday.

I got the change as well. I really hope this means we get decisions some time this week...perhaps today!? Fingers crossed.

Impossible to say whether it is a good/bad sign, but I agree it indicates that decisions should be coming out soon.

90-100 law school. top 20% but 5 As out of 10 classes taken with 3 calis. Had a bad grade in one class lower me down. 1 year of work experience for an investment bank. I got the update on 7/5 as well. Spent a lot of time going through forums today, and I do think it is a good sign from what I saw. Still, can't be certain.

Just checked, turned to UR 3 yesterday.
UR1 6/27, UR 2 7/5. Maybe today is the day.

Hmm, I was UR 7/2, 7/5 and I didn't have a date change today, but I did have my check list - which was previously missing the questionnaire and undergrad transcripts - checked off. Maybe that's a good sign? I hate trying to guess at this.

This kind of speculation based on UR date changes is pointless. While it might mean they are interested, it also might mean they have made a decision to reject/wait-list. I've got to say this kind of 'analysis' is similar to reading tea leaves.

Even if it means they made a decision to reject/wait-list, at least it means you're getting a decision. It's the waiting that is aggravating. And I don't think it's any different from reading tea leaves either but oh well.
Also, it does mean they're closer to a decision - I spoke to someone on the phone yesterday and she told me that when the dates change it means they've done more review and from the date of the first UR the wait is generally 2 weeks, but could be longer. So it's not entirely speculative.

I agree that it probably means they are getting closer to a decision. I was referring to the people who keep asking whether a UR date change is a "good sign."

3.6/ top 20% at top 20 law school. Been UR 2 since 6/29. Anyone with similar numbers hear back yet?

I have very similar stats. There were a few people admitted 1-2 weeks ago, but they were auto-admits. The majority of applicants are still waiting.

Someone needs to take one for the team and call admissions about the decision timeline. I'd do it but they probably will recognize my voice since I called so often about the supplemental forms.

They'll just give a generic answer such as within few weeks of receipt of all materials, or by mid-August.

Maybe, but last year I think people were able to get a pretty specific range.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
