Top Law Schools

Didn't see a group for NYU so I will start one. Hello everyone!

I just submitted today. 3.70 at rank mid-40s. Anywhere from toop 5-10% of my class. Have a masters degree from columbia and solid field work. Anyone want to comment on chances?

3.9 GPA, waiting on class rank but probably in the 3-7 % range

I'm top 15% at a TT... Should I save my time/money or is it worth a shot?

dma1012- did you have all your boxes checked off? Do you know if they start reviewing without receiving the college questionnaire?

Deedee - I do have all my boxes checked off (it did that at some point Monday - but it still was "processing" until today). Not sure if they start reviewing without the questionnaire, but they might. In last year's forum it seemed that some went UR before all of their boxes were checked. FWIW all of my stuff was in early last week and it took until Monday for my transcript to get checked off.

Did any of you send eTranscripts or did you just give their form to the registrar?

Sorry to ask a stupid question but I can't find the college questionnaire or the law school certification form on the website...can anyone direct me to where they found them? Thanks in advance!

On the LSAC application look at the top of the page (where it says instructions / application questions / attachments / forms). Scroll over "forms" and they should be in there.

I gave the form to the registrar and asked them to send it. If you don't live near school over the summer you can probably call the registrars office and let them know you need it attached to the official transcript and to look for an email from you with the form attached (which is what I did for my UG transcripts).

Has anyone else had two status changes? I was under review 6/22 and had a status change to 6/23 under review.

Anyone know the timeline for acceptances from NYU? I'm out of the country and can't do the hunting from previous years myself right now.

So I submitted the application about two weeks ago, and my undergrad/law school mailed all the forms/transcripts to admissions about 10 days ago. My status checker still says it's missing the College Questionnaire, Official Undergrad Transcripts, Law School Certification, and Law School Transcript. Anyone else having the same problem? I called a few days ago and they basically said the admissions office is swamped (probably because they require all these pointless forms...), but I'm wondering at this point whether there might have been a mailing issue.

Yes, these forms are absolutely pointless. I have my application complete, but I am waiting on some questionnaires. That combined with their policy on transcripts made this a very cumbersome and expensive application process. If they are overwhelmed with work from processing documents, they can thank their own senseless policies.

My app is marked incomplete and is waiting on a certification, that I know was sent last week. It seems like they are just swamped, as you say, and haven't had a chance to get everyone's files together and marked off on the tracker. I figured I'd give them a call early next week if it still shows incomplete.

I've been trying to call the admissions office and now it doesn't even put you on hold - just says they're unable to take your call and then hangs up. :/

Anyways, I'm 3.69 , anywhere from top 15-10%, from T20 school. Feel free to guess on my chances - I'm really hoping I get in!

Has anyone talked with an admissions officer to find out when NYU plans to complete processing the forms? It's approaching two weeks since I mailed them out and I didn't really receive a helpful response when I called the admissions office earlier this week.

Hello all!

Just letting everyone know that I went DLS this afternoon. Applied two weeks ago, and had 2 complete dates, which I believe were 6/18 and 6/24.

Should I assume this is good news? No e-mail from UPS/FedEx about anything from NYU (which I have heard is usually the method of contact), so patiently awaiting to see if an e-mail or telephone call will come through before COB. Will update as soon as I know!

Top 5-10% from Fordham with solid work experience here. Judicial internship @ EDNY this summer.
