TX TTT
Top 2%

Accepted, but not sure if attending.

I don't want big law (no interest whatsoever) and don't know if it's worth it.

There's the Class of 2017 facebook page. There's not one just for transfers to my knowledge.

Any idea what class rank from SMU would be required to transfer?

Top 20% at a minimum. Top 10%-5% would probably be a lock if you sell Texas ties.

But who knows

I'd say top 15% at smu is basically a lock. 25-15...still have a decent shot. Below that, who knows.

It's hard to gauge because, like all applicant decisions, a lot depends on the applicant pool. Top 15% is probably a good start to be competitive but, if everyone in front of you in your class applies, your chances are significantly diminished.

Good luck, but you shouldn't have enrolled at SMU with the mindset that you want to transfer.

I'm find graduating from SMU. The desire to transfer has more to do with the general enviornment here. Obviously I would try to transfer to a better school

Hey guys, I just applied to Texas for the Spring semester. I was just curious on how long it took for them to give you a decision. I'm sitting on pins and needles over here.

I doubt too many people here will be able to answer your question, given the different context. What is your current standing?

I am a spring start at a T4. Have a 3.78 (Top 7%) after my first semester and a summer class. I am an officer in our student bar association and also the vice-president of our delta theta phi legal fraternity. I am applying for spring transfer admission. Was just wondering how long the decision process took.

The problem is there are so few spring-start transfer applicants. I mean, my decision was mailed the day after my file went complete, but that was with two semesters of grades (so June); some of my classmates, though, were pending for a good six weeks or so. So the decision time can be quick but is also widely variable.

Additionally, you'll be needing admission with just one semester of grades since fall grades likely come out after the spring semester begins. I don't know of anyone ITT who got in based on just one semester of grades, even on as a fall-start student. I could be wrong though.

They said it would be a conditional acceptance. Meaning I have to finish with a certain GPA. Still haven't heard anything yet though so we will see.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
