I know UofC's ED is binding, but does it also require you to transfer? I'm at a T14 and contemplating a transfer a few spots up but the wife and I haven't made the final decision to move to Chicago.

You mean apply to only Chicago? I mean I'm pretty sure the website says you "must matriculate." But i'm not sure what the consequences of not doing so would be.

Yes, it means you must transfer if admitted. I am unsure of what would happen if you refused to go, but I don't think it's a good look either way or something you want to deal with this summer. I would just apply RD; give yourself some flexibility.

I emailed them about this. They expect you to enroll, but they can't force you to drop out of your school and go there. So no, it's not truly binding in that sense. I assume it just means you won't be able to transfer anywhere else, like normal ED's.

But you're at a T14...why transfer unless you really want to live in Chicago?
