Postby UFlaw99 » Sat Mar 07, 2015 1:08 am

Hey everyone I know a lot of people are looking for this information on the transfer statistics. This website has everything for the top 50 law schools with all the GPA, Number of Transfers admitted, and fourth tier applicant transfer info.

I believe he conflates admittance/acceptance with matriculation.

The ABA data is useful for what schools transferred in, but the raw GPAs do not take into account median differences. Overall, not useful information. Class rank is a better predictor.

Yes, I agree but at the issue is that Law School Class Ranks are not reported to the ABA only the 1L transfer GPA. so at best this is the closest I have found to have relevant information compiled all in one place without manually pulling data from the ABA.

Well, the very least you could do is mention that caveat about the data. If you wanted to do more than the bare minimum of including that caveat, you could include the list of schools from which transfers came and the number from each school, or even just add links to the 509s.

If you wanted to improve the data beyond simply restating the data from the 509s (which is also easily accessed from Nebby's prior post that included links), you could create a chart showing your data plus how many students each Top X school matriculated. (See below).

Also see my previous note about how you misuse the terms "admitted" and "accepted" where you actually mean "matriculated."

Here's what I mean by a chart:
