LOR advice

Post by Anonymous User » Mon Feb 09, 2015 9:41 pm

I'm applying to UC ED. Should have a decent shot, but I'm concerned about a LOR from fall. Would appreciate some advice.

I had an A+ in a class where I never really participated or spoke to the prof. Prof said they would write the letter but that it would probably be bad because they don't know me other than my exam, "which speaks for itself." Did pretty well in another large doctrinal, but, again, don't know the prof at all. Seems like a generally more-cheery/helpful person though. Then I had a median grade in a doctrinal that was in a small-class setting. Had a bit of a bond with the prof, but it was my worst grade and, while I'm pretty sure they like me personally, I doubt they think I'm a wonderful student. I assume it would be unwise to use the LRW prof?

Any thoughts? Is this a big deal/something I'm correct to be concerned about?

I have at least one really legit LOR but it's not from a fall prof, and I'm working on cultivating someone this semester in case I don't get in ED (I did not contemplate transferring until grades dropped).

Thanks

One of my letter writers was my LRW professor.

Full Disclosure: Transferring 1L

I had my lowest grade prof write my letter for many reasons. I figured (could totally be wrong) but if your lowest grade (which probably isn't that low) professor writes you a good letter, then higher grading profs would write you a good letter as well. Optics look good IMO.
