Actual rankings haven't been released yet, but based on the data from the last few years I am firmly in the Top 10% after first semester. I'm attending a school ranked in the 20-25 range. I have a pretty decent scholarship currently, would graduate with under 50k debt if I stayed.
I don't have strong ties to the geographic area of the school I am currently enrolled at, but have already built connections with students and professors. I'm happy here on a personal level, at least.
Pipe dream (that I hesitate to admit out loud) is academia.
Thoughts on where I might be able to transfer / where a transfer would be worth it?
top 10% at 20-25 range school

YS: No
H: Likely no
CCN: Probably yes
MVPB: yes
I'd say in this case it's probably not worth. Other than Y you aren't going to get much of a boost in your long term goals from any other school. You can prob get big law from your school if your grades stay up and other factors in place. And you would be put into much unnecessary debt, esp. given your goals, to transfer out.
Grats on grades.

OP here and thanks
One other question I forgot to add in my post: What are thoughts on applying for transfers for scholarship renegotiation purposes? Anyone out there with experience in this area who has sage advice?

Personally I don't know much about it or have first-hand experience (my school is/was against increase of scholly for transfers); but I know this topic has been discussed in the TLS Transfer forums. Consider browsing here a bit if others don't chime in.

I've know of many people who applied to transfer, got into YHSCCN, then used their acceptance as leverage to get a ton of money out of their current schools. It's definitely worth a shot.

OP here. I've looked around in the threads, but haven't been able to find on this approach.
Also, as an update, ended up in top 5%, if that affects the two questions of chances/ should I?
