Top 1/3 at UT. Transfer Options?

Title says it all. Just toying around with the idea and wanting to hear possibilities from people. I'm roughly top 1/3 at UT (not official, but based on past numbers) and wondering what transfer opportunities I am looking at. I have minimal debt at UT (<$100k) and wondering if it would be worth it.

Edited to add info.

Goals: Biglaw, IP eligible but not 100% set on doing IP

Ties: Texas, Chicago

Schools I'd consider: HLS (I know out unless I improve next semester), CCN, P, Boalt

Not great. Get top 15% and you have a good shot at CCN.

Probably with top 1/3 you could get into MVPB but it wouldn't be worth the extra cost. Might swing NYU but probably not Chi or CLS (anecedotally). You could debate the merits of a UT top 1/3 -> CCN transfer all day but with the increased debt load and without you specifying your goals I'd say not worth it.

Throw an application CLS's way. Are your odds awesome? No, but they take huge classes and are accepting some students they might not have in prior years. If you ask me it's worth the application fee--CLS is an awesome school, and your chances don't suck.

Is there a reason why you would transfer out other than prestige?

I guess it could make sense if you want NYC big law. That is probably foreclosed to you with your current GPA at UT. I'm struggling to figure out any other reason. Maybe if you wanted to take a swing at Chicago big law? But that seems like a long shot without strong ties (which maybe you have, I dunno). If you're looking to get a job in TX it doesn't make any sense to me.

You're kind of in a weird spot GPA wise. Should hopefully be good enough to get an IP job. It's iffyier if you want to get non-IP TX big law. But not sure if transferring would help you a ton with non-TX big law. It would almost certainly hurt your chances with TX big law.

I have a friend who was top 1/3 at a T20 (below UT) this past cycle and got into boalt and penn. That being said, those schools are a toss up at best, and you're probably on the outside looking in for CCN and above.
