You should apply to GULC if you're top 1%.

If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask. I did all this a couple of years ago. 3L now.

Thanks, I have a question. Can transfers join moot court? And if so, how, and is it hard to get on as a transfer?

How do transfers do in OCI? How do IP transfers do specifically? Can transfers do law review?

Thanks btw !

1. I got a ton of interviews. Accepted an offer from a firm I summered at 1L (NLJ firm). I was a bit disappointed, but I had way, way more interviews than I would have had at my 1L school.

2. IP transfers, as long as you have the science degree to back it up, tend to kill it at OCI. But you have to have the hard science/engineering degree for it to be worth it. If you want patent lit, you'll do just as well or poorly as any other field.

3. Yes, transfers can do law review. I didn't do the write-on.

Yes they can do it but I have no idea how hard it is to get on.

Thanks for your answer! I have a computer science background. Do you know if they (pat pros) tend to go more toward boutique or BigLaw?

There's a mix for sure. We had a lot of patent boutiques interview at the school. A surprising amount. But I guess that's because it has such a great record with patent law.

Unless you can go T14, I can't imagine going anywhere else if you want to do patent work.

Gonna post something here that I just told someone via PM:

Word of advice -- If you come here, take AT LEAST one class with Orin Kerr. He's an utter fucking superstar. Greatest professor I have ever had and it's not even close. He's a super, super chill guy, loves to converse with his students, etc. even though he's the GW superstar (him and Turley I guess). His computer crimes class is amazing (you don't need to know computers at all to take the class) and is a must take, IMO. He teaches crim pro, too, and I've heard he's equally amazing there.

If anyone is going to visit campus, feel free to send me a PM. I'd be down to talk to you in person about the school and such. I'll only be here until about the 2nd week of May, though.

If I'm top 20% at T2, do I have a chance at GW regular admission?

I think you'd need to be a bit higher. If you can bring yourself up to around 10-15%, you should be OK.

Think we might hear something this week?
Also, for the current students who transferred:

Is it hard to get the classes you want for the fall, like Evidence or Crim Pro?
How about doing clinics, or externships that first semester?
Thanks

Hi everyone! I'm arriving late to the conversation, but I also applied early action (T1, top 4%), but only to the part-time program. Does anyone know if there are any statistics available breaking down the transfer acceptances or enrollments by full or part time status? I'm wondering if my chances are reduced because I'm applying part-time.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
