Letters of Recommendation

I'm just curious to how professors usually react when you inform them that you are considering transferring and would like a letter of recommendation? (I had a 3.7 first semester)
- I have gone to one professor so far (TTT - I won't disclose which school for obvious reasons) and the professor talked to me for close to 30 minutes about why I should stay. The professor ultimately said he/she would write the letter but I'm just curious if this is a reaction I should expect from others?

The professors I asked were happy to do so.

The professors I asked were very nice and supportive. One made a case for the advantages of staying at the school I was at in the top 5%, but ultimately was supportive of my choice.

I started this thread. Thanks for the responses so far. Interesting. So far the one professor I went to kept trying to tell me if I wasn't going to transfer to a top 6 school in the nation it wasn't worth it. She was almost made it seem like a school ranked 10-20 was the same as a TTT school which I thought was absolutely ridiculous

That is a luke-warm response from the professor. See if you can get any others to write you a letter first. Your teacher probably went to a T1 school and is upset. Ha!
