Same here. Got an email through the back door, but it won't let me login with the credentials it provided.

Credentials do not work for me either.Jwood wrote:Same question. Got the email through the back door, but it won't let me login with it. Did the username and pass actually work for anyone to get on?markdg90s wrote:Well I guess that answers that?, I mean its strange though b.c i remember reading in previous years that back door would not work even after people got their acceptances.
The real deal is the upcoming exams. Keep up the great work and best of luck to all!

Re: GULC Transfer 2014
If you're in Georgetown's system as an admitted student, then if you attempt to retrieve your username and password then it will send you a temporary one to your email. However, you won't be able to log on because the real credentials will be in your acceptance letter.
A successful username/password retrieval entails that you are in their system as an admitted student. A failed retrieval "such as username/password cannot be generated at this time" indicates that you are not in their system as an admitted student.

So I had been trying the "Forgotten Password" tab and it was not working but then I tried the "No Password" tab and it worked. I got an email with the Temporary Username and Password. Is that what I was supposed to do?
And the temporary information didn't work for me either.

I can retrieve it whether I do it via the "Forgotten Password" tab or the "No Password" tab. Both send me emails with username/password.Anonymous08 wrote:So I had been trying the "Forgotten Password" tab and it was not working but then I tried the "No Password" tab and it worked. The username/password is not going to work that it sends, because you haven't set up the account yet. The username/password to set up the account will be in your acceptance letter. If you receive an email when you do "Forgotten Password" or "No Password" that means you're in their system as an admitted student. Go celebrate!

Now it's working for both. Thank you. I guess I'm still kind of holding my breath until the letter comes though! lol But definitely congrats to everyone who it worked for. Honestly, I felt like everyone in this thread was in a very competitive position, but best of luck to everyone who may roll-over to RA.

Back door login working for me now. Didn't work when I checked earlier today.
12% at school ranked in 50-60 range with 2 Cali awards. However I have a whole year of grades (currently on leave of absence) and a fairly compelling reason to transfer- husband's military service brought us to DC area. 3 years of WE in accounting.

I must be slow... I put in my last name and e-mail and it sends the information to my e-mail. When I tried to put that information into the login it did not work. Can someone explain?

I really want to check whether I got in using this backdoor method, but I'm worried that we might get in trouble for doing so. Is this a dumb fear?
Also, I meant to write up my statistics before: 4% at school ranked in 40-50, 2 years of legal internship experience prior to law school, and lots of volunteer service.

Congrat's to everyone that's "accepted"! I'll be praying for tomorrow, maybe they will be adding more "acceptances." If not i'm probably just going to stay at my current school.

Not weird at all. I had the same fear, but I went ahead and did it anyways. Still scared, but at least we are all in the same boat.

So, you're telling me there's a chance ? ... ugh, I keep coming back to TLS and the admitted students page just to get my hopes and dreams trampled.cmjones0309 wrote:Back door login working for me now. Didn't work when I checked earlier today.

Shouldn't work yet, read the page before: you'll get your credentials in the mail while, right now, the system recognizes that your data is punched in.GreeniePack17 wrote:I must be slow... Just got the username/password email .. through... no password link... i tried it couple of times earlier.. it didn't work.. either.. they are adding our credentials in batches.. or i just brought down their system.. by toggling between...no password and forgot password links.. what can you expect from a computer engineer... Denial of Service Attack ..

If they're doing batches for longer, maybe there's a chance?chalo77 wrote:Just got the username/password email .. through... no password link... i tried it couple of times earlier.. it didn't work.. either.. they are adding our credentials in batches.. or i just brought down their system.. by toggling between...no password and forgot password links.. what can you expect from a computer engineer... Could people post when they successfully got through with the backdoor method? rough estimates are fine, just curious.

For folks in the future reading this. This year's cycle is not like 2013, but rather it's similar to 2012. In 2012, admitted folks gained access via the "backdoor" before their letters arrived. Here's the link to the "backdoor": http://apps.law.georgetown.edu/admitted ... ssword.cfm
If it gives you an error, it means you're not in the system as admitted. If it sends you a username/password (which won't work), then it means you're in the system as admitted, and your real login credentials should be in your acceptance letter. In 2012 the same scenario occurred. Folks gained access to the backdoor, the username/password didn't work, two or three days later they received their letters in the mail with credentials.
Similar to 2012, this year's cycle (2014) did not seem to have any pattern in regard to status updates and access to the backdoor. Here's the link to when folks started getting passwords kicked out via backdoor in 2012: http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... &start=900
In 2012 backdoor worked on 4/24 (Tuesday)
In 2014 backdoor worked on 4/08 (Tuesday)
In 2012 acceptance letters received on 4/27 (Friday)
In 2014 acceptance letters received on 4/......
Also for future reference, here's the link to the 2013 cycle: http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 7&t=205054

Re: GULC Transfer 2014
I don't think the password retrieval was coming in "batches" because that doesn't make sense in regard to the fact that: 1) It's a computer system; 2) Office closes around 5:00pm, so no one would be adding new "batches" at 10PM at night; and 3) 2012's cycle had the backdoor on 4/24 and no one who couldn't get access on 4/24 could access anytime after.
However, they could add more today during office hours today. 8:30AM-5:00PM.

I live in PG County, MD and my acceptance letter just came today.
Stats again
4.0/4.2 (but #5 in class, weird GPA/curve at my law school)
School ranked 90-120
The backdoor worked for me (around 4-5 pm last night) and I had date changes on 4/4 and 4/7.
Good luck to everyone else.
