Have you received this email yet? I certainly have not, and I designated EA on my application. Wondering if perhaps I should give them a call when the snowpocalypse is over...

Hey guys,

Working on sending my application in by this weekend. Just wondering, would it be wise to wait to submit the resume/personal statement until you have a summer job or does it really not matter?

Thanks!

I have not. She said she would make a notation on my file (we were talking on the phone at the time). But she also said they would send an email. DC is currently dying because of the snow so that might account for the delay.

If you remember when you submitted your application, the EA designation was 'suppressed' when you previewed the app. I thought it was weird at the time.

Can they defer you to regular? If they want to see your second semester grades.

Yes. As a matter of fact, I don't believe they outright reject EA candidates at all.

I am curious about how everyone knows their class rank? The vast majority of law schools, including GULC, does not rank students until after 2 semesters.

:?: :?: :?:

Really..? How do they apply for 1L summer jobs without class ranks? My school doesn't assign specific numbered ranks unless you're top 5%, but they update the percentile cut-offs after each semester.

We're given rank bands (ie top 33%, top 25%) and GPA cutoffs after first semester. Top 10% actually get individual ranks.

cutoffs. have cutoffs for every 5% with the exception of 33%

Interesting. My school will not provide cutoffs until after 1L year, however, they will give historical trends of 1L class GPA distribution.

Just completed my application for transfer.

T10% (based on past three years)
T2/60's

Many people have two points of data (e.g. median and 25 or 33% cutoff) and are using a class rank estimator.

My school doesn't give rank until the 1L year is over. My top 1% is an estimate because I got a 4.0 on a 4.0 scale, therefore it is just an analytic truth that I am at least tied for first place in class rank.

Also, FYI, the EA applications is working properly again. Your previewed application will say "answer suppressed" where it should say "early action," but I contacted admissions and they said that it shows up on their end now correctly as "early action."

You're the best, Nebby; thanks for the update. I had just emailed them yesterday, but I suppose they should disregard it now :D

I had also just talked to them again. They said some people would get emails to clarify EA, but not all. Glad it's fixed.

I would just like to point out that it's the middle of February and I am already getting anxious.

God I know. My status checker just updated to application complete. Hoping they send out the acceptances in early April as they did last year.

I am about to submit my application for EA in the next day or so.

I am top 7% at a T4. CALI'd a class and got 4 letters of Rec's from all of my first semester professors. My undergraduate grades and LSAT weren't so hot though.

Laxstar what do you think my chances are?
