I am top 7% at a T4. CALI'd a class and got 4 letters of Rec's from all of my first semester professors. My undergraduate grades and LSAT weren't so hot though.

Laxstar what do you think my chances are?
EA for GULC from a T4 is top 1%. You'll probably be deferred to regular admission. Get a 4.0 this semester and you may have a shot.

Attend a school ranked between 15 and 20. Top 15% or so. Chances?

Based on what I've read and some anecdotes, you're fine. The more compelling question is why do you want to transfer to GULC? Pull up your grades and shoot for CCN.

Yay! And now the wait! Hoping they drop first week of April like last year.

Ugh, that would be wonderful. I need to stop compulsively looking at my status checker.

Decent chances--maybe not at EA. But you also have a shot at MVP (not so much "V" because of their preference for VA residents and their small xfer class size), but like someone else said. Pull into the top 5-10% this semester and shoot for CCN!

I've got a deposit due at another school 4/1. I'll probably get deferred to regular at GULC anyways.

Can you ask for a deposit extension in the event that GULC does admit you EA?

I'm considering it. It's at WUSTL. Not sure if they're known for giving extensions.

Hey everyone! I have two questions:

(1) I just submitted my application yesterday and, currently, the status-checker says that my application has been received. However, the boxes for my transcript and my letters of recommendation are not checked off (even though it lists my two letters of recommendation right above the requirements list). Given this, will I still get in for an early action review? Both my letters and my transcripts have been received by LSAC, so I'm guessing they just need to get to GULC now.

(2) If I am in time for early action review, I was curious as to what my chances of getting in are: top 4% at a T1 school.

Thanks for the help!

I asked and received one week last year for regular transfer admissions. Probably should have a decent reason.

Put in my application a few days ago. I have a 3.74 (top 5%-10% judging from last year's data) at a school ranked in the 60s. Do I realistically have a chance at being admitted EA to GULC?

It's my top choice, and hopefully, I've made that very clear in my PS. I'm just a little worried about my LOR--most of my professors from last semester are SUPER loyal to this school and have worked here for ages, so I didn't have the best group to pick from and the one I did, seemed lukewarm about it.

Yes you have a chance. I cannot say for certain. If you were above a 3.85 I could (well within the top 5%). If you don't make it EA and can maintain that GPA this semester then you'll have an even better shot when they defer to regular admission.

My status checker is the same and I know they have everything by now, when they first got my transcript it took a while for the box to get checked off. I might still e-mail Monday just to be safe.

Went complete back in February, and the same thing happened to me initially. The application appeared to have been received but the rest took a little while to appear as complete. It can't hurt to give the admissions office a call on Monday just to double check. Good luck! :)

Anyone know how soon we can expect a response? Is it worth it to send a LOCI?

Deadline for apps is just today. It seems from prior threads that they wait to consider EA apps until after the deadline, so they probably haven't even looked yet. No need to send LOCI so soon.

First decision last year seems to have came out 4/03 in last year's transfer thread. If they do the same, we may find out within the next 3 weeks.

Doubtful that I will sleep much the last week of March then.

Some info: They manually update the requirements list by a staffer. (It says so on the status checker). They are currently on Spring Break, so I doubt anyone was in the office all week. So that's why the status checker's requirement list has not updated yet--they will update them all on Monday with all materials that arrived prior to March 15. They don't start looking at the applications until the deadline has passed--so this Monday they will begin.

Good luck to everyone! I'll post if I have any status checker changes in the next couple of weeks.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
