#1 at T20. Chance of need-based aid from T-6?
Can anyone provide any information on the amount, regularity, and requirements of need-based aid from T-6 schools provided to transfers students? I have no money/assets, neither do parents.

I don't have an answer to your question, but you could always try calling some of the schools to see what their policies are.

and miss the opportunity to see TLS'ers argue and flaunt their knowledge of the T-6? Not a chance. Thanks though, I actually do plan to call. Hopefully I can hear some anecdotal evidence that the school may not reveal.

as far as i know, only YHS do need-based aid. but you have a great chance at H given your position (with the usual caveat that you need to hold it together).

Thanks stillwater, I plan to do even better. There were issues I left on the table on each exam that stemmed from pre-exam jitters and anxiety. I should be more confident and relaxed next semester.

I was not expecting to be #1. After each exam, I was slightly haunted by the slow realization of things I had missed. I felt sure that in order to be the best, you had to exhaust all possible arguments. You had to have the kind of day where nothing goes wrong. But I was wrong. I guess that's the hidden beauty of the curve. You don't need to be perfect, you just need to do better than the rest.

It is EXTREMELY unlikely you will get aid. The reason schools like transfer is because they almost always pay full.

This is normally true, but HYS offer need-based scholarship to everyone, regardless of whether or not you are a transfer. And they meet all estimated need. But for every other school, you're right.UndecidedMN wrote:It is EXTREMELY unlikely you will get aid. The reason schools like transfer is because they almost always pay full.

WOAH, they meet all estimated need? As in it's possible to obtain a full-tuition need-based scholarship?Nightclub_Dwight wrote:This is normally true, but HYS offer need-based scholarship to everyone, regardless of whether or not you are a transfer. At H at least, you can't get full grants- the first 40k or so is loans, the rest of the cost of attendance is grants assuming you're expected contribution is zero.
