To clarify, a 3.5 is exactly median. So, absolutely not.Arbiter213 wrote:No.PinkPolo wrote:Not a URM, no work experience. Do I have a shot?

I know two people from last years class at Cornell (c/o 2014) who both had a 3.6 and transferred into NYU - but can't verify how far below a 3.6 you can go

Why would you think those two—transferring to Columbia and getting a job—are based on the same criteria?PinkPolo wrote:Will I at least be able to get a job?
Edited for typos.

And yes, 3.5 will put you above the GPA cut-off for the vast majority of firms that attend AJF. After that, it's up to you.

If you transfer to CCN from Cornell, employers are only going to have your 1L Cornell grades at OCI. And most of the big firms have experience recruiting at Cornell. So employers will probably just treat you like they would treat a similarly ranked Cornell student. Not much of a point in transferring, IMO. Unless there is some other compelling reason.
