Current School's Rank

Post by Jimbola » Tue May 07, 2013 10:59 am

Does anyone know if the school you are trying to transfer to considers your current schools ranking from when you applied or from what it is right now. My guess is they probably have their own view on each school, especially the local schools. What do you guys think?

If you're asking if they follow the yearly fluctations in USNWR rankings, then the answer is almost certainly not. I would think the schools have their own internal procedures in valuing other law schools, possibly even in "tiers" (though, like I said, not specifically linked to USNWR).

tier is relevant, but going Fordham > NYU with x%ile gpa is probably more likely than (insert random midwestern school slightly higher up the USN flagpole) > NYU. But in general, no one cares that a school goes from 64 > 71
