Can't speak for other poster, but my interview was very focused on why I wanted Duke, how Duke could help me achieve my career goals, etc. Pretty sure interviewer even asked why I wanted Duke instead of other T14 schools.
Seems to be a very important factor to them.

Re: Duke Transfer Apps 2012
It is important to Duke Law admissions. Do some research as Duke has published this as a priority for transfer applicant review. A wrong answer, however, might focus on joint degree programs as I think transfers are ineligible for those programs.

I heard that if you dont get an interview, then you are not going to be admitted. That is, Duke interviews all the applicants it eventually admits. True? Thoughts?

My best guess is that it depends upon how clear & convincing your reasons are for desiring to transfer to Duke Law School.

Don't be so certain you're a ding... I'm still sitting at 06/29. Maybe they're just messing with me because of my undergrad degree from UNCshock259 wrote:My status date was updated. No word otherwise. Guessing this means ding.

Got a waitlist email. They said they will review my app again if more seats open up, but to let them know before accepting an offer elsewhere.
Good luck to everyone else.

"...but to let them know before accepting an offer elsewhere." = you're in, but not until we know that someone else wants you.

Got admitted via email around 8 today. Will be attending.
- for those waitlisted, I recommend writing a specific supplement about why you want to go to Duke.
PM me if you got in - love to chat with people who got in!

Re: Duke Transfer Apps 2012
I'm in the same boat as well. I'm assuming its a bad sign. Its almost as if they pre-screened and left a bunch sitting to WL or reject later. At this point it would just be nice to see some movement on the status checker.avonbarksdale wrote:Does anybody know when Duke actually posts rejections. i have heard people with waitlists, acceptances but nothing of rejections. my status still says submitted for review. anybody else have the same status?

fwiw, im pretty sure that you cannot be admitted without doing some kind of interview.

Re: Duke Transfer Apps 2012
I don't want to be depressing either, but I think if you have been complete for weeks and haven't been accepted/waitlisted/interviewed, you are probably looking at a ding. I was told they were only taking 5-7 transfers and that they had already handed out acceptances and a short waitlist of about 10 people.

Re: Duke Transfer Apps 2012
I've been waitlisted via email yesterday.
Anyone else who's waitlisted as well?
They said a final decision would be made no later than the first week of August.
