For me, it was probably more than a week. Of course I can't really remember.

Been U/R for a little less than a month. I think they only took auto-admits so far. More will come this week.

It seems like there are a few transfer students from Penn on this thread, so I figured I would pose the question to them.

Have you heard of anyone outside of the top 15% in their class gain admission as a transfer? I know that Penn is highly selective when choosing its small transfer class.

Frankly, I am trying to figure out how much hope there is for my application. (T-25, top 20% in class, from close to Philly)

I honestly don't know. I don't know of anyone who had similar numbers to yours, but I also don't (by any stretch) know everyone's exact first year grades. I would say that you are not out of contention. I think like you say, it will just come down to how tight things are, given the class is ~25 people.

Under committee review 7/9. Top 1% at T80-90. Expecting swift ding, especially with small transfer class.

No, just at file complete. I didn't submit my application until the last week of June.

Wouldn't be worried. They did not ding anyone but T4 yet. On the transferapps group, they have accepted as low as 8% fro T2.

I'm in the same boat. Went U/R today as well and also submitted my app during the last week of June.

Also just went under review today (7/9). My app was complete since the last week in June. Really hoping to hear back from Penn and Columbia this week. Need to get my life sorted out and start planning for the fall.

+70zillion

Moving is not easy especially when you have a wife and a house and aren't just some dude in an apartment and when your wife needs to find a job and you need to rent/sell the house.

I haven't heard from anyone yet so I just need one so I can commit that we ARE moving.

But at least from your post we know they are in the office today!

FWIW- Somewhere on their website it says that decisions will go out for all applicants who are complete, by July 15.

"Q. When will decisions be made on transfer applications?

The bulk of decisions will be made between late June and late July."

That's on the FAQ section of the site. Looks like some people may even be waiting until August.

Edit: I also found this. "By July 15 Application must be complete. All decisions on files completed earlier will be sent, though you may receive a decision much earlier."

I hate this time of day because I feel like acceptances have already come out and only rejections could come at this hour.

I think Penn does status checker or emails. I think Mich and H do phone calls.

I got a phone call. I know last year, Penn did e-mails. Maybe they've switched this year?
