What is your current school ranked? GPA?
T2 in 60's. Top 6-10% - no official rank yet.

I have a feeling that you will look back and laugh at the gtown waitlist/denial. It will probably save you the $ 800 deposit as well. What other schools did you apply to?

Yale, Stanford, Harvard, Columbia, Chicago, NYU, UVA, Penn...

Georgetown was supposed to be reassuring!

Does anyone get the feeling georgetown took a smaller transfer class this year? Or maybe it was more competitive?

I will go there if that is the only school that accepts me.

This is a general question for everyone denied and wait listed as well as some advice for next year's applicants.

After being deferred EA, how/did you boost your application?
- My EA application only had 2 LOR's from current professors. After being deferred, I went to my two other professors (tail between my legs) and requested LORs. I ended up with 4 LOR's for my RD application.
- I increased my cumulative GPA. But ranked stayed the same.
- I Booked 4 classes second semester. (For a total of 7).
- I sent a LOCI detailing the above information, with more information about how exciting my summer employment is (and what Im doing).

I assume my LOCI was the reason I was accepted and many of you (some you with the same, if not better numbers) were wait listed/rejected.

If they deferred you EA, that simply means that your application wasn't good enough. You have to make it stronger.

If you are on the wait list, and have not yet sent a LOCI, PM me and I can send you mine if you want to see an example.

I am sure some of you that were wait listed/rejected today will get T10, so don't worry.

Good luck to everyone else with this cycle, it has just begun!
FYI to other waitlists, I was an EA deferee and took a very similar approach and got in. I did not send an LOCI, but I was very ontop of things.

I think maybe more EA people decided on GULC (or at least paid deposits) than usual. I saw the list of EA people who put down deposits, and it was huge. I'm not sure if it's always like this and half of the people disappear or what. I'm thinking that's why the WL'd people so early.

How did you see a list of people who put down deposits?

EA was an insurance policy for many people who applied. Some will withdraw, as their grades weren't hit and insurance is no longer necessary.

EA deferees:

How long did it take for an update to occur on the status checker after you sent in your unofficial grades?

RD deposits were due today, right? I'm assuming all the admits are putting down the deposit. Here's to hoping some waitlisted applicants get in next week.

Nice! Got updated today. 6/28 Finally throwing my hat into the ring. Got my final grade of a B- which kinda fucked me.

-TTTT
-School neither ranks or publishes their policy on the grade distribution.
-3.6x and from the chatter, I'm probably somewhere between #2 to #5 in the class, but #1 and someone else in the top 5 also applied here, that I know of...
-PT only.

Sent in an updated transcript, a LOCI, and a PDF of the only class that published a grade distribution where the mean/median was a 2.3

Well - so far I am in at UCLA. Berkeley would be the only one left to strip me away.
